Menthol from crystals

Just wanted to check something with you guys. Finally got around to making some menthol concentrate. I crushed the crystals and filled up a 10ml bottle half way and topped it up with PG. Just letting it dissolve now.

First question is regrading the crystals. I was just wondering if anyone has bought a brand called Numark? It says "irritating to the respiratory system" on the back which I thought was odd considering they're an aromatherapy product!



Secondly I was hoping to make a lemon menthol flavour. I have TFA lemon so was wondering what percentages to go for?

I think its just the same as bags of nuts havin a 'may contain nuts warning' on em.
If youve made your menthol conc strong enough it should be just a case of making a lemon juice and adding a few drops at a time till you have the required effect.

Made up 10ml of 10% menthol and 15% Lemon and it's spot on.

The bottle I used for the menthol was the end of a sucralose concentrate so I reckon there was 0.5ml left in there.

You used 1ml of your menthol mix?

Wow... you must really like menthol. Even 5 drops of the crystal solution sends me into menthol meltdown.

Is it strong?

I do love menthol yeah. it's not as strong as Element's Frost which is one of my favourite juices. So for the final mix I bumped up the menthol to 12%.

That's a great way to make up your own catface26. I use the same method, and if things aren't strong enough in the menthol department, I'll pop a few more crystals into my final mix, and give it a good shake - works well enough for me!

If you'd like to make a more rounded Menthol concentrate, with a little depth . . . . then adding some Peppermint ( 4ish% ) and Spearmint (2ish% ) to a basic concentrate helps to do this catface26.
