I gave up on my Atlantis tank because the coils seemed to last a day or two before there was no flavour. I've used a load of different juices and I bought a subtank nano the other day with some eco vape 'cloud' juice and the first day was lovely. But I'm already struggling with what is a horrible experience again. I've swapped the coil to a new one in the box that is 1.2 the other was 0.5 both taste the same, I've tried another juice from Rejuiced that's also crap and it feels really dry on my throat it's weird to describe with accuracy. I really want to quit fags for good but it seems like every time I try to get back on it the whole thing is shite within days I feel like giving up. I've watched loads of YouTube videos of the same stuff I've had and it looks amazing but when I get stuff within a few days it's the same it's driving me mad! I read on here about how the evic mini is great, the subtank same so I must be doing something wrong

nottmlad I recently bought a Subtank nano kit, & though I'm not having exactly the same problems as you, I'm still not loving it. I still prefer my Aerotank on my 20w iStick.

tbh a lot of peps are trying to do just what you are swap from fags to vapeing with a sub ohm tank vapeing is not the same as smoking as the partials are smaller in fag smoke,so its kinda like starting smoking again and as such a sub tank is prob not best way to start also if your using a high nig juice it will taste rough compared to a low nic juice and high vg % is also a good idea when sub ohming(any thing over 6mg with a coil under 0.8 ohms is gonna hurt) i still use a protank everyday and have to say they are a good starting point as they give about same vapor as a ciggy and will let you know what juice you like (one of the hardest things to find out when your just starting) if you vape a lot of the same favor juice it will seem to lose its taste ,this is normal and commonly called vapors tongue and the best way is to use 2 or 3 diff juices and keep swapping flavors
last thing the dry throat is prob normal as vapeing do dry you out ,just have a glass of water near by(or any other drink lol)
hope that kinda helps

I started on an Evod with a 1.8 or 2.2 ohm coil with a 1.2 liquid at 7.5watts. Get used to it first then have a play with what feels right for you.
In case you're wondering, I'm now on a .3mg liquid with a 0.16 coil at about 95watts.

nottmladit sounds like you had the power up too high on the Atlantis and others have said swap juice often, personally I use the sub tank with the 1.2 ohm coil at 13w on the smallest air flow setting, in both cases I only put a days worth of juice in the tank and then change flavours, also I often run 3 tanks at the same time and take a puff on them at different times of the day (so I don't mix the menthol with anything else) if your taste sensation is disappearing I would suggest a good strong menthol in a separate tank as a pallet cleanser, as to strength, I started on 24mg nic in using a 2.2ohm coil@7.5w and moved to 18mg on a 1.8ohm @10w and then 12mg on a 1.2ohm @13w, then I started using the RDA deck and building about 1ohm @15w and use a mixture of strengths from 0>12mg on them, I started playing with sub ohm in the last couple of days but realistically I prefer MTL vaping, as to juice, I started off with about 30 bottles from liquid (1pound liquids) of various flavours /strengths until I found some stuff I liked and stuck to it, for the first few months, I think it took me about 2 months after I started vaping to completely stop smoking, and now a few months on I have to say I am not looking back, subbing isn't for everyone either I don't suppose I could ever chug away like I see other people doing as they blow giant clouds I just don't have the lung capacity for that yet /

Thabks for the reply, I'll try changing flavours I'm waiting for some to arrive, I was using Atlantis as low as 20 watts and the poxy thing still never worked properly. Changing juice tonight has took some harshness away might get some coils for my Atlantis and try using them both to se if that helps. I've been vaping on and off for 3 years now I just want to get rid of fags for good but the gear seems to stop tasting nice or gets too harsh and even new coils doesn't work and I put it away for a few weeks ????

I agree with what many have said, sub ohm or rather tanks designed predominantly for lung inhales aren't the best introduction to ecigs for beginners. I realise you've been trying for sometime but it sounds like you've been struggling.
Evods, iclear16s or other mouth to lung tanks are far more appropriate. Better still get yourself a Nautilus as a great starting point. Put your sub ohms tanks away for now and come back to them if you wish once you've kicked the smokes.
Hope that helps.

nottmlad yeah I know what you mean the first few days it was just nasty, my throat felt like it was on fire and the fags were sooo much better, then someone told me to watch a tutorial on how to vape and to get my juice form somewhere else, I ended up with 12 bottles of premium juice that whilst it tasted nice is still sat in a box in the back of the cupboard because it was the wrong stuff to use at the start..... I ordered probably 20 bottles of tobacco juice (once I found one I liked the taste of) and ended up giving them away because there just nasty now ..... anyhow I started off trying to use 100% vg and it just made me gag, some words of advice and I moved to onepoundliquid standard juices, since I didn't know what would taste nice or not originally I ordered 1 of everything.... so I instantly gave away 10 bottles after finding our they tasted horrible, I moved on to chugging lower strength about a week after I stopped smoking alongside the vaping, I would say the biggest problem for me was the original kit I had came with those poxy ego bats and they were just trash, as soon as I got an istick (I went with the 30w version) my vape experience improved, then I moved on from the starter kit tanks to a pack of ce5's (I dint like them much) and then onto the mini nauti, don't get me wrong the experience has been good and I have found a lot of help more from reading around than necessarily asking questions directly but it all helps, now I know if I want to use the high vg juices then really I need a different sort of tank or a preheat function, I just started to play with temp control and am eagerly awaiting some new gear that I ordered over the xmass sale period (mods and tanks) I am still thinking of moving into mixing for myself but the OH isn't keen on that atm (that may change) but honestly if it wasn't for liquid (£1liquids) I probably wouldn't have stuck with vaping, so unless your allergic to PG then i'd get the standard mixes off them, I never thought I would but apparently I like sweets custards and menthol flavours far more than fruit or tobacco so be prepared to get lead by your taste buds. as you say your still smoking I have to ask what your smoking, I was on amberleaf and chugging away though 6+ 50g pouches a month before I started and it tailed off quite fast once I started, but I made a major mistake by not going high enough on the nic strength to start with, i figured that a rolly was half the strength of a tailor made so used the calculator that way, i was wrong i should of added them together at the same rate and chosen the strength accordingly (that would of worked out around the 24mg point and once i got that right the rest was gravey stick with it things will fall into place especially once you find a kit you like, for me the mini nautilus tank was a revelation, the subtank not so much although i like its larger juice capacity i find i'm not building sub ohm coils and i hate the way it spits

Today, I mostly vaped on a MTL at 12 watts. By 3pm, I was desperate for some 'dosing' - why? I reckon I'd forgotten my RY4 was 6mg and I don't do 6mg at 12 watts. So, I loaded up a subtank and vaped at 24 watts to get my head straight. Do what you enjoy. Sometimes you want a blast, others you can jog along with a tootle or two every hour. There are no rights or wrongs. That's why we like it... more variety than a boring paper cylinder of dried tobacco dust.

I think that everyone suffers the same lack of satisfaction from vaping from time to time. It's the juice, coils, tank, mod...... and probably the main cause of shinyitus.
High power vaping is an overload, we tend to cut down on nicotine and overdose on flavour. Not surprisingly the flavour goes and we still have to feed the nic hit with a more vaping. Catch 22.
As already said variety is the name of the game, but not so much that you loose all sense of taste. I went through it about 3 months ago, I had 30 or so different juices in my collection and was going from one to the next getting more mehh with every change.
Although not as easy as it seems finding an all day vape with a couple of zingy juices to liven up the taste buds is a solid idea.
Up the nicotine in the subtank to feed the addiction. lower the power and intake to give your taste buds a chance to recover. I'd recommend a dripper to get your flavour kicks (tanks will never be the same) when you have time to enjoy the moment.

I only use 6mg in the subtank as been warned any higher could be painful on the throat, maybe I'll look into a non sub tank and go back to standard 18mg juice

nottmlad If you have the gear to go back to mtl vaping with higher nic go for it, high wattage cloudy vaping isn't the be all and end all. You don't have to take full lung hits with the subtank, I use a nano with 1.2 coils at 12-15 watts and 12mg juice. Above the wattage buttons there is usually a bigger power button and a thumb on it, works very well as an intake limiter ????

I started on a Spinner v2 , then Nautilus all Mtl, first step to the dark side started after discovering Fasttech and cheap Istick 20's, changing at the same time to my first lung hits with the Kanger Subtank, after that it just becomes a blurr oh I quickly dropped from 12mg Nic (Mtl) to 3mg as the Vape was far too harsh. I seem pretty contented now with the mods and tanks in use, DIY my liquid at 1mg Nic and switch between Uwell Crowns, Tfv4 or the new Crius. On either the Dna200 or Rx200.

I was a heavy Old Holborn smoker,so rough old lung hits appear to be my thing although a couple of tailor mades would leave me sounding like a Dalek. I actually vape less often now than I smoked. I now use TC most of the time but regularly chuck a mini nichrome Clapton into a subtank or a pair into a dripper all with 10-12mg. Apart from a new toy session I very rarely empty a tank in anything less than a couple of days, heck my half-full Goblin mini hadn't been refilled for a fortnight. Like smoking roll ups, I pick em up, put em down. Haven't sub-ohm chain vaped since I bought a TFV4 and made myself sick on 3mg juice.
Everyone has their own style of vaping, mine works for me, wouldn't catch me mtl vaping 24mg menthol or RY4 lol.
