Is there a starter kit that has everything I need to start building my own subtank coils? I've watched the YouTube videos it looks pretty straight forward, they're £3.50 each in my local shop and £10 or so ordering online for 5 so does this also reduce cost much? Or is it just a gimmick? Can I build them better then stock coils with practice?

Building your own coils is a good option and will save you money. I personally much prefer my own builds on the rebuildable deck to the shop bought replaceable coils. With a little practice and tweaking you'll soon find your ideal personal build. It gives a level of satisfaction as well Vaping on something you produced.
As for a kit, I wouldn't bother. A few cheap drill bits from your local hardware shop in sizes such as 2mm 2.5mm 3mm to wrap your coils around. A pair of flat tweezers, I recommend sanguine ones from eBay, they close flat not slanted if you know what I mean, better for giving a micro cool a little squeeze. A set of nail clippers are perfect for snipping wire tails. You can get a set of jewellers screwdrivers for a pound or two. Build your equipment up yourself and tailor it to your needs and methods.

pound shop for small precision screwdriver set small wire cutters nail or hair scissors one of them packs of large metal tweezers (they have a reverse sprung pair in that hold the coils by them self when you torch the coil) sainsbugs or Tesco for cotton balls £1 a big bag,not asda as they seem to be perfumed
that now leaves you with wire to get and as is for the sub tank idd suggest a roll of 0.3,0.4 and 0.5 kanthal so you can get diff ohm builds easy
so for the price of 5 coils you can rebuild 100,s of times hence why i norm just buy rbt

Wow great info thanks, I thought the cotton was special stuff bought from ecig shop not cotton balls I have subtank nano but my coils are in a square housing as is the video I saw of them being replaced. Do I need that round one or will it fit my tank with it being a different shape? Can't wait to have a go now just need the stock ones to get through so I can start playing.

Is this video not what I have then? I'm confused Thanks for the links. This video is a build tutorial for the Subtank Mini RBA but the build would be the same for that Subtank Nano RBA head i linked to in the other post.

probably watched the stock OCC coil rebuild? If you can find them the old horizontal coil heads are the easiest to do or the old version of the vertical OCC because with a bit of faffing about you can get the top off to get the vertical wicking in. www.gearbest.com/electronic-cigarettes/pp_148267.html?wid=1 Litterally all you would need is a pair of 10-11mm? spanners to get the top off ( if you want to build vertical coils) 2.5mm & 3mm screwdrivers, nail clippers and cotton wool wire as already recommended or premade coils www.fasttech.com/products/3033/10009432/1853204-pre-coiled-nichrome-wires-for-rebuildablethese seem to be pretty accurately rated, I bought load for a friend who wanted the easy route to coiling her subtank rba. Plenty of resistances and diameters to choose from.

I use the mod's readout for the ohm meter ........ if am reckless enough to build below 0.09 it wont register or fire on my current collection of mods but at least I can tc on the ni200 (7 wraps is normally around the 0.09ohm mark, conversely kanthal A1 at 6>7 wraps gives a nice even 0.9>1.2 ohm readout depending on which deck it put it on .....
I tried using an actual ohmmeter in the past but it failed to register the coil resistance (because its a chepo and I cant be bothered to spend more than a fiver on a device I use maybe twice a year)
