Just to throw a curved ball in, I don't wick my v2 rba's anything like that. When I first got them I had no idea how to wick them so I pull the wick through the holes in the side of the chamber (which is tricky at first but you soon get the hang of it) then cut the wicks about 1-2 mm outside the chamber, I never had any leaks and it's a cracking vape. I haven't tried this way but I defenetly will smarties thanks for the info and thanks for everybody for the replies I believe I am on a long way of learning :-) I "through wick" them as well and mine don't leak.

I only use a 2mm coil in mine so quantity of wick to cover the holes is in short supply. i leave it long bring it down onto the base then back up the sides and fan the ends over the hole.

Dandelion wicking 'Scottish roll' fluffed out and trimmed to the outside edges of the base, just the outer layer of a muji pad or strip a similar layer from the centre. Must be loose enough so that when it expands the coil is filled, subtank rbas dont seem to like overly tight wicks. Works with pretty much any 2.5>3mm coils, basic kanthal/nichrome, mini claptons, quad kanthal twists like on this deck, TC.

Wicking is key if you are using the RBA. Absolutely right Andy! Too little cotton = leakage, too much cotton = dry hits. I also just ease the cotton back from the areas of the juice holes after assembly with the screwdriver that comes with the STM. Jim

Too little cotton = leakage, too much cotton = dry hits. I had both I had the dry hits today, got kinda lazy last night and squeezed in a left over piece of rolled wick. Knew it at the time but hoped that it would sort itself out with an overnight soak. Rewicking a subtank at 5am was not on todays schedule.

My Subtank Mini started to leak so I changed the silicone seals and the glass and that fixed the problem.
