Hi all,
Being new to vaping i am looking for some advice please.
I have currently got an Innokin cool fire IV, with Kanger subtask mini RBA, and Innokin sub tank.
I am thinking of upgrading my equipment and wondered if any of you had reviewed the following:
Smoktech X Cube II
Smok TFV4 tank
Also, does the Cube II come with batteries included in them or do i need to buy them separately? if so could you recommend batteries. Also should i buy a battery charger for these or does the Cube charge them sufficiently?
I will be ordering them from FastTech as the price is better then i have seen in UK so far.

Darth Vaper - here are my thoughts on both the X Cube II and the TFV4 tank. The X Cube is a substantially bigger and heavier mod than the Coolfire, but of course houses 2 x 18650 batteries. It has a massive power range, although I tend to use mine between 25-60w, with a brief foray into the high 80s a couple of times. Using it at this wattage setting, I can get easily a day's fairly heavy vaping from it, and if I'm on a work day when vaping is restricted, I can get almost 2 days. I have disabled the light display as I'm convinced that this only helps to drain the batteries more quickly. The power bar takes very little getting used to, and is really easy to use. The screen is full of information, and the mod has extras like Memory mode for favourite settings; a power delivery setting from Soft to Hard, which affects the ramp-up time to the coil; a Puff Counter; TC of course (which I haven't really experimented with yet); Bluetooth allowing you to connect to a PC to adjust all the settings available from the mod itself, plus add and adjust TC coefficents for Ti, Ni and SS wires, and much more besides. It won't come with batteries, and it is not possible to charge via the USB, that is for firmware upgrades only, so a separate charger is a necessity. Samsung 25rs, or the LG HE8, Sony VTC4 are amongst the suggested batteries for this mod, high drain and good quality. Try Torchy or Ecolux on eBay, or there are vendors selling these at a good price. You shouldn't pay more than £14 at top wack for a pair of these batteries - any more and you are being ripped off! By all means order your mod from China, but be aware that an order with batteries in will take much longer due to transit restrictions; i would suggest buying your batteries in the UK. Hope this helps, I would buy another X Cube tomorrow, I love mine and it hasn't missed a beat in almost 4 months of daily use. Andy

Oops, forgot about the tank!
TFV4 - great tank but quite thirsty - if you make your own juices DIY then not a problem, but if you buy yours readymade, I hope you have deep pockets. I have the original quad-coil head in mine, and I got through 4 tanks of juice yesterday, and I wasn't using it all day! The top fill is great, although the slot in the silicone washer could do with being a bit bigger, but this is a minor gripe. The airflow is really adjustable, with airflow slots in the driptip too. It's not any bigger than other similar tanks like the Typhoon, Atlantis or Subtank Plus, but as mentioned is much more thirsty. There is a new Micro kit out which may be worth researching - I think some of the modifications would make this tank even better.
It does look simply great sat on top of the X Cube too!

Wow... thank you chykensa, great review. I have already ordered my equipment/liquids for making juice myself for first time, so will see how that goes when it all arrives next week.

I own three TFV4s and a fourth is on the cards, they are great tanks and Gearbest often have the coils at around £7.50 for five. They last a lot longer than the coils for the other sub ohm tanks I've tried too.
The TC coils I tried were a bit naff, but the others have been great. The 1.5 ohm coils are brilliant for MTL when I fancy it.
The cube? Like Andy said, I'd buy another without hesitation if mine broke. If I wasn't waiting for Wismec and Evolve to get their act together, I'd buy a second one!

I can't speak for the tank but the X cube II is one of one 2 variable voltage mods I use, I prefer mechanical mods. I like the size and weight of it, batterie wise I'm a heavy vape so tend to run through 2 or 3 sets a day, dependant on how you vape you'll need at lease 2 or 3 pairs and the cube USB port isn't for charging just for upgradable firmware. The only thing I can fault mine on us the battery door was loose but since I put a custom wrap on its now as loose

I have an xcube 2 and a snowolf 200w both with the tfv4. Either one runs that tank very well and I love the tfv4 with the quad coil head. The xcube 2 is great if you like a bit of techy stuff to mess about with. The Bluetooth connectivity was fun for a short while but I do not find myself using it at all now. My battery door rattles annoyingly at all times which makes me lean towards using the snowolf more. The xcube is half the price though which gives it a worthy advantage if you sort the battery door out.

Thanks to all for advice and reviews on these items. I liked the tank as soon as I saw it in the shop but was told that unfortunately it would not work with my cool fire IV mod, hence why I'm looking to upgrade to X cube II but thought I'd ask your opinions before I went out and just bought one.

I must be a bit strange because I wasn't particularly impressed with either. The X cube was OK, but only OK. Once the novelty of the flashing lights wore off I found it to be way too big and heavy and the battery door is awful. It works though. The TFV4 on the other hand I didn't like at all. Very muted flavour wise and I found the vape to be lacking compared to the crown. I even preferred my cheap as chips Isub. Would I spend money on them again? No. My recommendation would be a Wismec RX200 and a Uwell crown.

XcubeII: lovely mod, but heavy & cumbersome, I haven't had any issues with rattly doors, but you have to get used to locking it all the time, the fire bar operates under the slightest pressure in your pocket.
I haven't tried a TF4 purely because every other Smok tank I've had (latest being the TF4 predeccessor TCT) leak like a sieve, I got fed up with filling it one night and it being empty next morning.
But your Subtank mini will work great on the Cube, get some ni200 heads for it from FT and you're TCing

Another more traditional mod to consider is the Koopor Plus 200w - Koopor is the 'sport' division of Smok, so the Koopor has many of the same features (but not the lights ) and is slightly smaller but still solidly built. It has a standard power button, uses two 18650s and feels really solid and chunky in the hand, which I like. If I had to choose between the two, I would go for the Koopor mainly because of the reason Q mentioned, namely that it fires at the slightest depression of the fire bar, and even goes off if in my hand when I'm driving (in a straight line with little traffic, I should add!). I have also got into the habit of locking it whenever I put it down. I was lucky and got my Koopor for considerably less than the retail price and it was only a week old, but you should be able to pick one up for under £50 - Myepack £39.99

TFV4 is brilliant with the Triple coil head in. I've had mine for ages and the triple head is still giving great flavour and clouds. So far I've never used the RBA or the Quad head, still lying in the box. Never had any problems with leaks either. As for the X Cube II it's still my favourite mod. It gets used a lot and I get about a days use out of the batteries. I only use it inside due to the weight but that doesn't bother me at all. Maybe I was lucky but my door fitted very snugly and I use a silicon sleeve to keep the mod pristine, so no rattles. Lovely display at eye level so you can see the figures as you vape. If the flashing LEDs annoy then you can switch it off.

I don't know if it's still available but it is also a very good mod as I am finding out now. Between them I'd say 95% for the Cube and 90% for the Koopor
