If you have one of these do not trust the onboard charging.
I decided to do a little test.
So i charged the mod fully via the USB, once it's full the battery meter flashes.
Once charged i held the up and fire button for 5 seconds while the mod was switched off to display the charge levels of each battery.
The mod said each battery was between 4.1V and 4.2V good enough right, from what the mod is telling you it seems the charge balance is pretty spot on?
Wrong, i took the batteries straight out and put them on my Nitecore, only one was fully charged, one lit two bars up and the other only lit one bar.
This is why people always recommend using an external charger folks, especially with mods that use multiple cells.

I would send it back under warranty it sounds more like a faulty unit to me.

I would expect the same chip that handles charging handles battery protection and there would seem to be something wrong with that or the balance/monitoring circuit between it and the battery. I wouldn't trust it myself, it's up to you of course, but I would back it or bin it, it's just not worth the risk IMO.

Mone went funny with telling atomiser too low all the time, have binned and ordered another as I liked it for the money.
There is a sequence of fire button presses when off that tells you the voltage of all 3 batteries, 10 or 20 can't remember now, so you can check.

If it's not in the bin yet keep it for spares, if you don want it I'll have it off you at the next London meet you go to, also you could put a DNA200 in it.

Yeah you hold the up and fire button for 5 seconds when the mod is off and it displays the voltage i did that it said all 3 were between 4.1v and 4.2v. I tested to see if they were infact all fully charged by throwing them in the external charger and only one battery was fully charged. Pressing the fire button 20 times when switched off shows you the firmware version number.

Then it started saying "check atomiser" then it wouldn't charge etc. Sold it at a loss to someone who had a thought they could fix it. They binned it as they considered it dangerous as it got very hot to touch. These don't seem to be isolated cases.

I'm gonna run it down to half the battery bar and check the batteries to make sure they're discharging evenly, i'll mark the batteries so i know which bay they came out of.

Yeah I've got one of these and I just can't bring myself to use it. Such a shame after the excellent DNA200 version being so awesome. Yes I could external charge but why the heck should I. It grates on me sooo much manufacturers put these things out to the public. Ive seen way too many complaints about this mod and I won't be using mine at all. It also begs the question about other mods with the Joyetech chip like the cuboid or the vape forward flask. I suspect they are the same and it's putting me off big time. I never thought I'd be a fan boy of any manufacturer. But for me any regulated multiple battery mod right now that charges on board, has to be a DNA200. Gawd I hate saying that but dam these manufacturers for being so irresponsible

Well jtc, you've summed that up perfectly. Mine hasn't arrived yet and there's a good chance it won't come out the box when it does. No reliable usb charging is no use to me. In an ideal world, certainly it would be safer to use an external charger, but life on the road isn't always ideal, I've got enough baggage without having to carry batteries and a charger around. If manufacturers can't provide safe, proper, usb charging then the mod should be sold without that facility.

ruddy hell ,just got one of these if i dont use the usb charging do i have to get a new 4 bay charger or can i still use my 2 bay ie charge 2 batts then 1 I have now got a 4 bay xtar (wanted a backup charger anyway) but when I first got the Rolo RX just before xmas I was using my old 2 bay charger no problem. Just a bit more of a fiddle. I did keep 3 batteries marked as a set; so that they 'age' together; if that makes sense. Also rotate them in the battery sleigh; I think middle battery may take more of a hammering. All this probably been said before; sorry.
