Help! Riva battery gone mad

just finished charging one of the riva1100 batteries, plugged it in and it fried the carto burnt my lips and sent out the most awful smoke.


guessing it has freaked out. is this common.. tried turning on and off, cleaning it and a different carto... so far two fried carto's.... whad'ya think?

are they lr cartos? dont think they mix well with rivas

maybe the ground wire came loose....i tried fixing one once and forgot to add the ground and it when hot like a kettle and fried the switch.

I have just had the same problem with mine, don't know what caused it, returned it to my supplier who sent me a new one next day, thats what I call good service...thanks Jason

think i'll return it, only had it a month and don't fancy playing around with it.. literally had smoke coming out of the carto ( which is well and truly done in now, and it had the last of my caramel in it )

think just trturning it is better than tinkering when i know nothing about electronics...

Was the battery activating without pressing the button?

not really. LT is off being looked at. lucky you get a spare with the riva.......

no. as normal. and i did the 3 click thing a few times, but it just seems to be super heating... will check your emails and get back to you there. thanks!

spare is charging now. fingers crossed karma..... my options are pretty limited otherwise

TBH probably wait to see what the outcome is with the LT.... but red wine+paypal can become an issue... may purchase a couple of spare batteries anyway, just not to get caught out....

seems like luck is not on my side at the mount though
