Anything with Morgan Freeman, especially the bucket list and Amistad. The ninth gate with Johnny Depp. Once upon a time in china 1 2 and 3 with Jet Li. Samuel L Jackson movies are fun as well.

And on a more personal note, Billy Connolly is a fantastic actor. He carried Tom Cruise in the last samurai and was epic in Mrs Brown, the boondock saints, the debt collector, an everlasting piece, the man who sued god and the third hobbit movie. He's perhaps the most underrated actor of our time.

The "Machete" and "Bad Ass" films are worth watching for bad acting pointless violence

@spikeyfridge While I haven't read the book I saw the film last weekend. "Jack" deserves an Oscar, what a performance from a young child.

vinny is good as a cockney bad guy, to be honest I haven't seen him pay any other role, but as a stiff quick to anger devoid of humour mental case that likes cutting people up he's perfect on screen...

as to films to watch there are so many, I rather like a lot of the tarantino's older films although you should probably watch while drunk the first 3 times and sober the 4th so it finally clicks into place....

sadly theres way to many films that try to be to many things and personally I prefer straight up linear mega violence films that haven't been cut to bits for youngsters to watch, we were soldiers is fantastic (especially if you have 7.1 surround and a dark room) but not if your squeamish, SPR was good but for different reasons, and I quite enjoyed battle LA (they managed to capture some real world emotional scenes rather well, and having been in one or two of those situations in the past I was rather overcome with emotion during the helo ride scene) also liked live die repeat although its got some pointless slow bits at least you get to see tom cruise die lots of times

The Blues Brothers has to be my all time favorite film.

Worst film i sat thru at the cinema was Purple Rain the depressing semi autobiographical Prince Pic, while some of the music is timeless in the context of the film its Oh so Bad.. the fact you can rhyme the description of the suicide into the lyrics of the eponymous song all too easily made for some quite bad taste audience singalongs.. And to recover in the bar after we created the 'Purple Rain cocktail' a bottle of pills + blackcurrent topped up in a pint glass with Pernod.. the pavements were plastered with regurgitated purplerain in a fitting monument to poor lil prince or squigle..

Revenant was great imo. Hateful8 zzzzzzzz! boring to say the least, after all the hype i thought it would have been half decent.
