Shocking news about the DNA200s DiscoDes... Dave Dorn had 7 of them and 3 work! And Matt Gerrish was rightly berating 'pile em high and flog em quick' vendors for sticking piss weak batteries in a 200 W device - 30 minutes vape time before the battery goes flat, that's ridiculous. So glad I didn't succumb to the hype at the time and dish out for one.

davetherayon TBH I thought the piece they did was a bit .......meh... it seemed mainly anecdotal evidence at best. I don't have any DNA 200 devices so cannot comment, there are many that love them (John I mean YOU ) and have not had issues I'll reserve my judgement until there's either a outcry fro more people saying that theirs have failed or silence because people are happy with their devices.

So glad I didn't succumb to the hype at the time and dish out for one. Never had a fault with a DNA200 yet and I have had 7, I guess some people are just unlucky, but as Matt made clear they were all replaced under warranty. If Matt builds them all like the one he did a live video on I am not surprised they failed as he kept the non ESD (static isolated) soldering iron on for far far too long, probably this was just nerves being live, but you have to be quick, I admire his courage doing it live, but it was not a good example. You may well be lucky using a non-ESD iron, but it is soldering 101 (seriously the first 10 mins of soldering instruction when I went to Uni) when anything that looks like a silicon chip is present. That is not a problem with Evolv Cloudmaker blogged that YiHi had a failure rate of 25%. 30 min battery life is just complete BS a couple of manufactures rated the batteries the next size up EG 1300 mAh as 1800 mAH and one dodn't update the pre-release firmware so batteries arrived flat and had lost some capacity so needed replacing. I get nearly a day out of my 900 mAh LiPos 40-50 W and a couple of days out of the Rolo. Nothing is fail proof, there have been some failures, but I don't believe at anywhere near the proportion they experienced and I keep a close eye on the DNA 200 Early Adaptors Forum where this would show up with 6700 members. I also believe people are far more vocal because earlier DNA mods were perceived as expensive and just throw cheap ones away when the fail. You do get a full year no quibble warranty on the board even if stack em high and sell them cheap let you down.

I really like my DNA 200s, I've got an Efusion & a VT200. The VT200 developed a fault after a month or two of use, I sent it back & it was replaced, no further problems since & they are both used daily.
Really like them, but also looking forward to getting my RX200 which seems like a huge bargain if it does what everyone says.

I agree with VapingBad , I've got 5 dna200s and only had one board have a warranty service due to a bad battery which I didn't notice untill it was to late and couldn't get the warranty service to go replacing the battery.. This was my first attempt at soldering something so small so could have been due to a user error but evolv replaced the board no questions and I haven't had an issue since.. He doesn't even know the capacity of his hcigar which is more like 1100mah than 1300mah.. And I think he may mean 30mins vape time constantly which is 600 puffs at 3second puffs.. I'd get about 3/4 a day of a 900/1000 mah battery which is fine for a small mod to drive around with in work and a 1300mah lasts me a day..
