Hi mannyer,
Long time since I dealt with anything FET and not wanting to again really. Out of interest, is the principle of the MOD boards (devices) to act as voltage doublers with the Mosfet handling pulsed power to the atty's? PWM stuff. Was looking for circuits to browse but did not see much so assume with 555's and displays it went a long the power pulse principle. Add in duty cycle.
I am drawn to this because i have an iStick 30W that I think is a clone. It throws "atomizer short" (error) when I use USB pass thru. No problems when on internal battery only. Something ain't measuring right I think?

Something ain't measuring right I think? Potentially. I found that if the battery is too low on some of my devises the pass through won't work. In this set up (which is boardless) the idea of the two batteries in parallel just ups the mah. The get doesn't do anything to the vape really just protects the switch. What was it that mad you not wanting to go back?

In this set up (which is boardless) the idea of the two batteries in parallel just ups the mah. The get doesn't do anything to the vape really just protects the switch. What was it that mad you not wanting to go back? Fets appeared in the early days of VHF/FM radios which held my interest. Tuners used the new field effect transistors. That was about lowering signal/noise ratio. Then I built the early capacitor discharge systems for car ignitions..end of points problems. No FETs for that, just power PNP to fry eggs on. Currently cars are into inductive systems with the ECU's. I legged it to computing before that, so lost early skills to some extent. Eye sight is not so good for this work. Although, I will commit this istick to surgery if forced. This istick error occurred with a Kanger Mini yesterday and I'm trying to replicate it on a kanger Nano. Coils are ok (I think?) although a new set of Kanger V OCC's seem very bad at wicking? Took at least 12 hours to settle down and soak up adequately. Got the odd dry/over cooked hit on the Mini.
