I want to make a custard

Ok...im a self confessed custard addict.

Ive made 4 different easy recipes...all straight forward but non custard.
Now ive got my head around the diy process. Id like to start thinking about making my own custard.

The flavour profile id like to get would be a very vanillary, creamy flavour with a nice richness of custard to go with it.

Any suggestions people?

Perfumer's Apprentice Dulche De Leche 2%
Ethyl Maltol, between 1 and 2 drops Per 10ml

i just do a big bottle of 10-15% of what ever conc I have as a base.
I then spice it up by just adding a couple/few drops of whatever flavour to a tank before filling with the custard.
I cant be doing any more with hundreds of different individual mixes.

We had an AAEC custard off in 2014 where a load of home brewers sent their custards to be judged by a group of members and arron was declared the overall winner.
I've been using his recipe as my ADV ever since, still love it
The recipe was posted after the victory
Cup Cake Word Custard: 20%
PA French Vanilla deluxe: 4%
PA Sweetner: 1%
60/40 PG, VG

I'm going to offer up to you for consideration:





Buttery Vanilla Custard Waffle

Belgian Waffle 8%
Butter 1%
Bavarian Cream 2%
Vanilla Custard 8%

I like a good ' full on ' flavour in anything I make . . . . you might prefer a lighter touch, given the equipment we now have available.

And, if you felt like being a little lazy - then Chefs have 2 excellent pre-blend Custard concentrates that I personally mix between 25% - 30%
