Sometimes when I put a new atty on my DNA200 it fails to read TC correctly and hits max temperature setting instantly. Ive noticed this a few times and I think it's just with my wismec reuleaux but I'm not 100% as I have a couple of different mods. It happened yesterday on my wismec reuleaux and it baffled me for a second. My perfect ss dual coils I was using the night before on a different mod were instantly maxing out at 470F. Then I remembered it had happened before. So I disconnected the one battery for a couple of seconds and hey presto everything worked as normal. Now the only thing I can think of is that it had been on charge through USB over night (in a fireproof bag) and I'm wondering whether somehow this had upset the board. I did think 'well have I not selected new coil' but it wouldn't have fired if that option had appeared. It's not a very regular occurrence but it happens and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this happening.

your not supposed to charge them with a usb lead your supposed to take the batts out and charge them in a charger ...... I know it says you can in the book but it causes the mod to go screwy

Never heard that about not charging them it would mean you could not use the USB connection without taking the batteries out first jtc try pressing fire when no atty is attached, I think it is just that the new atty is a bit higher res than the old so it thinks you still have the same atty on. You can also reduce the Ohms Lock Range in the Manufacture Settings section of the Mod tab in EScribe.

Aha Good point about the lock range I like it It was a slightly lower ohm in fact Only by like .02 though and ss wire ? I do like to charge through USB on the rolo as I find it's quite easy to mess up the battery wraps and I just find it convenient

I don't usually like the idea of charging multiple batteries in a mod but I did think the DNA200 was a bit of an exception

Yeah I never take them out and all seems fine with the batteries I don't even swap them around Not sure if that's a bit naughty though?

Swapping them around is a myth you don't need to do it, there is no basis for it unless one battery position get hot by heat conduction from the atty otherwise they all operate at the same current in series or self balance in parallel.

I'm so glad you said that sir I often think well in things like a laptop they don't get switched around so what's the difference with a mod

Right then I can confirm that after charging through USB it knocks the TC control about with my DNA200 ROLO It's not even that it needs to recognise a new coil. The only sure fire way to rectify this problem is by briefly disconnecting one battery. I only use ss wire so not sure if that makes a difference but there is definitely a glitch with both my DNA rolos. I'm not sure about my lipo mods right now but I'll be watching for the same on them

I'm not sure about my lipo mods right now but I'll be watching for the same on them They first found this problem with the wirless charging on VaporShark DNA40s, the heat caused by charging can effect the resistance refinement function. My rolo has the case thermals already set, these are an attempt to compensate for it, check yours are set as follows. or You can continue what you are doing or You can lock the resistance or You can run case analyser with your batteries in the environment you usually charge in with any sleeve or case on, takes about 6 hours to complete. Also rubber or other heat insulating selves can affect it.

Yes I have done my case analyser and used a threaded copper rod for mod resistance. I am actually now using a silicone sleeve around the mod but I don't think that is a problem. If I briefly disconnect the battery and put the sleeve back on there are no issues all day. Strange one
