OH uses an HP Chromebook. She only uses it for internet and email plus watching iplayer in bed. She likes hers and finds it easy to use.

aaront903 when you say for a good price how cheap is it ? I ask because a cheap tablet with optional keyboard will do everything the chrome book does and quite possibly more and whilst the 10/12" screen size might seem small it wont heat up your lap and you can detach the keyboard and hold it with less effort than decent sized book, in fact being much more akin to a large more capable smartphone in most ways, of course you can go down the silly money route buying a top of the line job or save cash and get one from places like Argos (in store) and if you don't like it take it back within 16 days for a full refund /

I got a new one from Amazon for about £150 (Lenovo). Took a little getting used to everything being in the clouds, but apart from that easy to use, small, light and battery lasts all day.
Someone up there mentioned heating up in your lap. Mine has a small solid state HD (I think that's what it's called), no fan (so totally silent) and never feels even slightly warm.
