I miss the old days, I remember the gearbox on my Vitesse 'getting confused'... I had one forward & 4 reverse gears I didn't have money or a lock up but I did have an old Spitfire sitting doing nothing, so I took the gearbox out of both, stripped them on the pavement and made one gearbox from the 2, it wasn't the smoothest change but it worked.

Vitessse ? OMG that was the first car I drove after passing driving test when I was 18. it was my dad's pride and joy, v8 twin plenum, rear wheel drive beast. Unfortunately I discovered how well rear wheel drives cars drifted round corners and destroyed the prop shaft twice. my dad was not a happy man.

Wrong Vitesse, You're talking Rover Vitesse but I had the Triumph Vitesse 2 litre, straight 6, convertible, beautiful car in a straight line, 'fun' around corners I was drifting before the word was even invented

I worked for Toyota/Lexus for a year and promised myself oneday a Lexus. I'm on my second one now, a GS430 which I thought would last me for life, but on Thursday it stopped, guess an electrical problem, just waiting for my mechanic to report back, I'm just dreading the ECU has packed up, that will cost more than the cars worth, such a shame as it's a wonderful car, what do you do ? pay the over the top prices or throw away a beautiful car ? Lets hope it's something simple and i'm looking at worse scenario.
