Forget buying Nickel Wire and just get pre-made coils is the best route IMO.

Or use stainless steel on the Evic, that way if you find TC not to your liking you can still use the wire in regular VW mode.

0.25 mm Ni200 will be the safest bet, thicker and you sometimes struggle to get the res high enough, it is difficult to re-wick this though. Check the lowest res your mod supports and use steam engine to check you can get above that before making a decisions. StealtVape Ti works well if you want a thicker stiffer wire, but I find Ni200 the easiest to work with and the best performer once you get out of the Kanthal mind set and just got on with it YMMV.
I like twisted Ni200 best of all wires for cotton, either 3 strands of 0.2 or 2 of 0.25 mm tightly twisted work well and are stiff enough to re-wick easily but the res is low and many mods won't support it especially dual coils. 10 wraps on a 2 mm former should just get you above 0.1 ohm and has really good heat up and cool down speeds.

My advice would be to forget TC and use Kanthal

It's a long road trying different tc wires but I've found stealth vapes ss 316L to be my go to right now. 24 gauge 8 wraps 3mm ID Dual coil 0.18 ohms It likes high heat like at 540f and 55w from what I'm finding but it's vaping great. Added bonuses is it's easy to rewick, you can dry burn it and in general it's nice to work with. One more thing is I find my juices taste better with ss

www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp to help you design your coils... +1 to starting with kanthal, and i would suggest .04mm or 0.5mm as its nice and strong to stand upto heavy handed wicking.

I see it the other way and think most of the problems people have with Ni is just because they got used to thick Kanthal then had to adapt to thinner softer wire and nothing to do with easy or hard just what they are used to. Since using almost noting but Ni since Oct 14 I find Kanthal, Stainless Steal, Titanium and NiFe30 harder to coil with, they are generally easier to rewick, but not to make coils from IMO. I hate making coils with Kanthal now, PITA. The first thinks I recoiled were with skinny Nichrome around silica and those were almost impossible to rewick we just wrapped the coil around the wick and replaced the lot. If your mod can power very low << 0.1 ohm then I can easily make dual Ni coils that are easy to rewick plus heat and cool extremely quickly and have not found anything to match the vape quality.
YMMV

don't get anything above 0.3 mm in ni200 you cant build a coil with a high enuff resistance I haven't tried any other tc wires as yet but a lot of peps seem to like ss and that will be my nest learning curve I did try to get to grips with it on a sub tank and it was crap but on my ks clone (nice big single coil build deck)I managed to get good results that kinda changed my mind about tc so to have a chance of getting it to work you do need to use the right type of tank, what yer got lol owwww and the rx200 has a short 510 connector and wisemech have just put out a thingy saying that 510,s that have been fubared buy tanks with long connectors are not covered by warrenty SO if your tank(tfv4 is one of a few that's quoted)DONT OVERTIGHTEN IT SO IT SITS FLUSH it will fubar it over time

Nichrome wire and Nickel wire are two different things altogether.

no good for tc but all good for the rebuild learning curve (even if it's just buying the right stuff (been there lol))

Strangely enough the Kanger KBOX 200 has a TC NiCr setting for Nichrome wire, which I will get around to trying soon. Also you can download the TFR setting for NiCr N60 and NiCr N80 from Steam Engine onto the DNA200. But I haven't a clue what these wires are like.
