Bravo for Bristol City Council! How refreshing to see some common sense from this neck of the woods . . . . .

The issues are not that they have gone the vaping way, but why others have not! At a local level money from Big T is not an incentive. London treasury manage the distribution of funds to councils after they have raised the income from council tax. Shortfalls due to benefit payments etc are then given back to the council as a percentage of income Vs expenditure and population services required such as schools, fire, police. Now its the government that need the big T money to cover whatever costs.
We need more local decent from the government as these will be the people who will have to enforce the laws. I dont think they will be able to ignore the TPD, Lets see if they are different than others.
Bristol City Council is the local authority of Bristol, England. The council is a unitary authority, and is unusual in the United Kingdom in that its executive function is controlled by a directly elected mayor of Bristol, currently George Ferguson. Bristol has 35 wards,[4] electing a total of 70 councilors.
Breakdown of councillors Labour 30 Conservative 16 Green 14 Liberal Democrat 9 UK Independence Party 1
So they dont have to toe a party "conservative line" and this makes it interesting in the political forces from the main party.
This was longer than I wanted it to be, but I found it interesting, so thanks for posting.

its always good when public bodies act for the public good rather than putting cash above them, then again binning smoke free south west was a good start in that regard

Good on Bristol Council, who therefore seem to care more about their public than others, well done

I told them to poke there request for payment where the sun doesn't shine, those feckers are worse than private parking clampers in their devious interpretation of laws and demanding money with menaces, might of helped that I had my mobile in my hand with the camera running though.....
