New DNA 200s

Right, I only seem to post here nowadays when I have made a new toy and want to show off. I'm far more of the lurker type but I'm getting more and more excited about this mod making and need to get it off my chest!

After solid wood and bamboo I've tried to make my life a bit easier by using more 3D printing, results below:







The pink version was made as a yet-to-be-delivered gift. It's all plastic and has kind of served as a prototyping exercise for the less forgiving (and more expensive) bronze infused stainless steel version. This one has a slightly textured gunmetal finish to it and I'm just waiting on some wood to arrive next week to make the side panels.

Both have light and clicky mechanical keyboard switches for the fire buttons. Hoping to get some nice SS actuators made next time round.

Just for fun, inspired by a previous bamboo build and a newfound confidence wielding a soldering iron, I've also had a go at a Nixie clock:

I'm pretty sure there are LED matrix clock kits around too if you're after a closer match.

I know that I was on about building my own stuff and since then I must've done a million hours of research and finally in the process of building something for myself

It's all in those tubes - I've got a real soft spot for them now. In my mind I'm trying to justify making another one as an alarm clock...

It certainly does, just what wood were you planning to use, will it be darker?
