is it possible to cut down a 510 adapter at the thread? not sure if these are made of steel or copper or zinc but i assume using a hack saw will mess up the thread and sanding/file will take forever and have same result. can anyone think of a way i could do this. basicly i brought 510-510 adapter from hc gb with the view to use it on my neo kit i won on vttv...the problem wa i received the classic auto version of the kit which actually has a half skirted ego connection, being as the kit has auto batts(which are great incidentally) the only 2 non-leaky attys i have are the imist and stardust i need to us an adapter...only problem with that is..... the little gap between the atty and batt incase you didnt notice as a result my neos have remained in the box since the day i got em since the leak-o-mizers...ahem puromizers that came with them dont play well with auto batteries. ok so cosmetically not so great...but as these are autos it actually distracts from the suckage(dunno if thats real word) and makes it near impossible to actually take a toke. so my idea...take 2 or 3 turns off the adapter? or any one know of another even shorter adapter? suggestions most appreciated?

You could try a 510 to ego..That'll do the job. libertyflights.co.uk/product.asp?id=35May make the draw tight. That depends on the diameter of your battery but I think you'll be ok because you will have two sets of slots. A set on the stardust and a set on 510-ego adapter..

there isnt anything you can do with the adapter unfortunately ...as it will extend your Janty by one complete adapter length regardless of how long the thread is.... in simple terms the adapter is just stacking the thread from the stardust on top of the thread from the Janty with a tint bit in between.... if you could mill out this bit in-between it may help but not an easy task you could reduce the length of the thread from the stardust... if you do then try and find a nut you can put on the stardust thread then grind/cut it down. unscrew the nut and this will help take any burring off the thread the battery you have is the middle one right ?

Is that what he's got? I couldn't make out in the piccy. I thought the gap was caused by a long 510-510 not realizing that's a raised 510 connection. My bad KOS..

Cloud9 do shorty 510 adapters if that's any help. Otherwise, make your own.

I know it's a bit of an old post but I'm new.
A rubber tap washer should be just the ticket here.
Anyway, I hope you got it sorted one way or another.
