Following on from the thread by jh does anyone know what size the screws are that hold the mini subtank rba chimney on are, being the cheapskate that I am I buy the fasttech ones and they are exactly the same except the chimney screw is not stainless so rusts in the ultrasonic cleaner. I have measured them with a digital caliper and they come out at 1.26mm but apart from that I'm clueless, any ideas?

I'd guess that new stainless screws of the correct size would cost around the same price as a new rba deck smarties, so not sure if it's worth the search. Not that I know..... but, if it's genuine, should it not already have a SS screw?

You would think they would be stainless tim but it's fasttech and they're not, and yes stainless screws aint cheap I've ordered one of the glasses repair kits from China £3 for 1000 for now.

and s/s is just going up in price now its no longer being mass produced under state subsidy, for the last decade s/s was so cheap becase china was making millions of tonnes a year and basically giving it away, now there charging for every gram and the price has gone up expectatins are than in another 6>8 months it will have risen 10fold in price if the current situation remains and the stockpile of surplus overproduction runs out, this will mean 2 things, s/s will be harder to come by and the price of decent tanks /atty's will hit the 100's of pounds mark based on the production costs of them ....so the best idea is to get several high end units on the cheap now with enough spares to keep them running for several years in order to save up for the future, also be worth stockpiling wires while they are cheap as well for rebuilders because the price of that will also be affected and that's without the pirates profiteering as things start to creep up
