great thanks everyone, looks like my retro cig is the only one left that is still being used lol if you do have one i would be more than interested. I now realise i really do need a back up plan in the future (I was warned lol)

And yes you did take a vtr back to the UK for me which had never been used so I sold that one, but I had another one in the cupboard which was used a lot so I didn't put that one up for sale. Have never used it since getting my subtanks though so I should have given you that one to take back as well, never mind, maybe one day I'll send it back to the UK with someone else.

I have two vtr's and luv em. Great sturdy piece of kit.. no snapping atomizer off if you sit on it.
Regarding your problem.. the battery catch can wear slightly and not make good contact or the base of the battery can concave slightly too, if you get a small thin round flat magnet and put on the bottom of the battery all works fine again.
