I understand that the vapour we exhale is apparently harmless to those around us. I'd like to vape in my tearoom (when there's no others around) but would like to know what to say if anyone questions me on what's in the vapour I exhale?

I would say it's like kettle steam, (except it's not hot!) or the 'steam' that comes out of an asthma air tank, or whatever they're called, when asthmatics wear masks to help them breathe, as that's exactly what it is. It's also the 'fog' like substance that they have on theatre stages for example. That gets breathed in by everyone around with no known ill effects.

vapour is mostly just water molecules and the tiny amounts a 'passive vapour' would inhale would pose no threat to them at all (in fact there are much worse things in the air already) vapour also doesnt hang around in the air like smoke does

My sister is allergic to smoke. When I started vaping, we ran a test to see if it would bother her. I blew vapor directly into her face and it didn't bother her at all.
E-juice consists of Propylene Glycol, which is used in a number of ways, including theater fog. Vegetable Glycerine, which is also present in a number of items, including food items and water base flavoring.
Here in the U.S. PG and VG, have been approved as being safe, by the FDA.

Yup, my cat likes the smell of the vanilla I'm using. She sees me vaping and comes over for a sniff! Thanks for the input guys. I'll test the waters at work and let you know how it goes

In my cointreau ad voice (for those of a certain age), I describe it as the result of the gentle ambient heating of a blend of glycerines and glycols with a hint of caramel.
