You can get things like the apollo for about £20 or so then get a thing called a loaded spring from custom vapes uk to transform it. Makes a hell of a difference.
As for battery safety, there's a guy on facebook called mooch, does loads of testing, very useful info, personally I vape pretty low ohms that would scare some and cause others to give me funny looks but I have been mech only for the last couple of years and learnt a thing or two.
Bad batteries are thankfully far a few between, bes to stick with proper manufacturers, the people that actually make them. The problem with the likes of efest is they buy in 2nds or batteries that don't make the grade then wrap them with their own label. Recently they've been passing off some shitty 10amp things at something like 35amp cells!!!
I stick with samsung 20/25R's, sony vtc3 and 4 which are normally genuine, it seems to be the vtc5 that was faked. There's also some LG's and sanyo that are good too for crazy low builds.
