Haven't had this experience for some time just keeps crashing -.....and then I have to kill the page Am on win 10 on a rubbish machine but still Done maintenance like avast/cc cleaner/defraggler - no difference It could be one of the addons that is causing the problem, so worth trying by turning them all off, then putting them back on one by one until you get a crash otherwise: If you have it associated with a Google email address, then the easiest way to deal with Chrome problems is to uninstall it, close down the computer and reboot, then reinstall Chrome from scratch, all your settings/addons should then get reinstalled when you first open it and sign in. Bit harder if you don't have a gmail address in that you will need to take note of all your settings & addons and reinstall them manually afterwards.

Jane @johanino I've also had this the last few days (Win 7), but what has also been strange is the blizzard of Windows updates over the same period. Normally once a month, but now had them each day for the last 3 days... coincidence Anyway since I installed tonight's updates, no problems (famous last words)

Yes @johanino
This has been happening to me a lot.
I have uninstalled and re-installed 2 or 3 times. It's been fine now for a few weeks.
(i.i.r.c. the last install was a 64 bit version).
My Windows PCs are a model of minimalism. Almost no programs and certainly no 'free' utilities, because I don't believe in them.
This issue is my only grumble with Win 10. Shame really.

A little help "maybe"
Press windows key and R Type msconfig Select services Click Hide all microsoft services Disable all
This will stop any thrid party services running. Now you can turns these on one by one. You can also customise the start-up and stop anything you dont use from starting up.
Also ensure your clock is set to auto update to stop the certificate issues
