I'm about to order coils for the Innokin iSub V (Vortex) tank, and want to order coils at the same time. My mod is an Innokin Disrupter.
There appears to be 2 types of suitable coils:
Innokin iSub Coils
iSub Coil is designed for sub-ohm vaping and can be used with the Innokin iSub, iSub G, iSub Apex and iSub S tanks. Available in 0.2ohms, 0.5ohms and 2.0ohms.
Innokin iSub KAL BVC Coils
iSub Kal BVC coil uses the popular Kanthal wire and comes in two different resistance: 0.5ohm for sub-ohming and 2.0 ohm normal vaping.
Now I'm properly confused. Does the Kanthal wire makes a difference, and which resistance?

No need to intentionally over complicate things. imo

doctorjellybeanDepends what you have been using - and what style of vaping you prefer. Mouth to Lung Inhalers (MTL) usually prefer higher resistance (higher Ohms) for their coils - and a tighter draw. This usually also gives the battery a longer life as you are using lower W's (Watts) to get the vape you want - and also a lower juice usage. Direct Inhaling (DL) - taking it straight into your lungs - vapers usually like more vapour production and lower resistance (Ohms) and a looser draw. This requires higher W's - so you'll use a battery up faster, goes through juice much quicker (and it can mean A LOT QUICKER! ). Kanthal is one of the most used resistance wires used - as to the difference between the 2 coils - i'm sure someone will pop up and answer Dreckly

My current wattage is 30 - 35, coil resistance 0.5 and the airflow around 50% open. That does use quite a bit of juice, probably 2 - 3 days for 20ml. Ideally I would like the juice to last longer, but I don't want to struggle to get flavour. As for the style, it varies.

doctorjellybeanIf your battery is lasting you long enough - and you like the Flavour and Vapour Production etc (Shape of the Vape) then stick with the 0.5 As to Juice use - changing the Ohms won't necessarily adversely effect the flavour - but why risk it? The other option might be to up the nic content and vape less. I managed to reduce down from 3-5 tanks a day to around one - by changing from 3-6mg to 30mg (DIY juice) as an experiment - and then had a 3-6mg tank later on before heading to bed - kept the juice use down - and only vaped when i needed the nic Edit: Should also add that the 30mg experiment was using a 0.3 Ohm coil in an Anyvape FuryTank and around 40-45W - compared to either a 1ish Ohm build on a Kanger Sub Tank mini or 0.5 Stock coil. Also vape time dropped considerably - did the job for nic (and nic rush) but was less enjoyable than the lower nic and W vape on the higher Ohm coils

your mod don't do tc so stay away from ni200 or bad things happen ss might be worth a punt as some peps seem to get a cleaner flavour from it in vw mode(start off low on the wattage mind till you find out what they can do) now then the ohmage this is a bit off a funny one as it don't really make that much diff as the coils will only wick up to about 35 watts unless you drill the juice holes bigger so going under 0.5 ohms with the standard coils is pointless

the 'other one' is probably nichrome.
I had some 0.2ohm Kanger heads with 'nickel alloy' coils. Supposed to be rated 25-70w they were too hot and flavourless.

"BVC" means a vertical coil, think of it like a chimney with the air pulled up through the middle. They tend to be more "airey" than a horizontal coil. I think the others are horizontal coils so the coil goes across like the top bar of a capital T I think 0.5 ohm is a great resistance for a Kanthal coil, I get superb results on my Subtanks with a 0.5 ohm horizontal coil.
