We were talking to camera for about half of these 5 hours and making many good points, I wish they had included the view of long term vapers that either didn't want to or have given up on giving up.  As a group I think we provided the material for that and other stuff.

CLOTHING
Please dress in what you are comfortable in – just try and avoid any obvious logos (Adidas across your chest is a large advert)
Also fine lines and checks best avoided as they tend to move around on screen (think of a sports presenters jacket strobing).
If you are in need of inspiration for what to wear – plain bold colours or larger patterns are best, try and avoid black as you may look like a floating head!

EXPENSES / TRAVEL EXPENSES
Sadly we aren’t able to offer a fee for your time but we can cover travel expenses and hospitality.
If you are able to keep reasonable travel receipts we will be able to reimburse you on the filming day.

SNACKS / REFRESHMENTS

The scenes we have decided to morph together – E-Liquids / Aldehydes
So Michael Mosley will lead a discussion about E-liquid ingredients & aldehydes whilst you play cards

THE CARD GAME
Doesn’t really matter, we will stop and start. But maybe we should try and play switch – as its one I can explain well. Rules are below:

How to play - You must put down a card that either matches the suit or rank of the card on the last card played.
For example if the last card played was the 5 of hearts you can play any card in the hearts suit, or any card with the number 5.
If you can't play a card you must pick up a card from the centre pile. There are several variations of Switch. The important thing is to make sure all players are clear on what version they are playing before the game starts (so you don't have arguments in the middle of the card game)

Switch: special cards or 'trick' cards
Aces: If a player plays an Ace they can nominate a new suit that the person next to them has to play (unless they have another Ace in their hand)
Pick up 2: If the player before you plays a 2, you must either play a 2, or pick up 2 more cards
8 skips a go: If a player plays an 8 it skips the turn of the next person
Jack back: If someone plays a jack it reverses the order of the game
Last card rule: If you only have one card left in your hand you must declare 'last card' so that everyone can hear you. If you forget to declare last card, and the next player has taken their turn, you have to pick up 7 cards on your next go.

E-Liquids: We would like you to play cards & vape with presenter Michael Mosley whilst you chat, then Michael will invite you to play a guessing game about a range of e-liquids and what ingredients they contain. This will involve turning over some playing cards. We have sent some E-liquids off to a lab in order to assess if the labelling is accurate. We might ask you where you buy your own e-liquids, and how you feel about the new TPD regulations coming in May.

Aldehydes: We will talk about some of the high temperature lab experiments, where aldehydes have been created from certain E-cigs. Perhaps some of you might be able to try vaping at these high temps / at dry puff and explain how easy or hard it would be to continue to vape at this level? (Our research leads us to think that it would be pretty unpleasant).

I was once in a promo film for a company i worked for and thought a black shirt would be better and show well on tv.



Was told a white shirt would have been better.

I have quite liked to see the Petri dish cells treated to a blast or two of London street air......just to compare the damage done by pollution which many breathe all the time.....

And not forgetting all the chemicals added to things like fabric conditioner to make them smell nice? One of which, limonene is a known carcinogenic.

Overall an interesting and fairly balanced look at vaping which came out so very much better thank smoking. And, they've stopped calling it smoking e cigarettes, and now call it vaping......on telly......in public.......finally

Ok, so they are safer than smoking, but no better than NRT. Watch the powers that be force that upon us and ban e-cigs.....

And they don't address the "habit". The hand to mouth action that usually makes cold turkey quitters put on weight, the other massive drain on the NHS.

Other than that, very well analysed.

It is not science without a control sample IE air.  And there should be colouration between the death of cells and how that extrapolates to our bodies.  I would like to know if they just had that e-cig powered for the whole test, if so it probably overheated and not realistic.

Still shows PG, VG & Nic are of far less concern than the flavourings.
