just wondered if you could extract mint flavours from mint out the garden in Propylene Glycol if so what ratio do you think and how long you have to leave it wonder if you put it in a warm bath in a glass jar

I would suspect that it would be hard to get enough flavour from simple infusion with PG, as well as you will be unsure what other chemical compounds that will also be extracted. Flavour concentrates used for e-liquids are usually very concentrated. Edit - ninja'd by Perpetua - seems that you need to use a high strength alcohol

I've only ever steeped 'baccy in cold PG (for about 8 weeks or so) so dunno about mint. Wot I would say tho'.....why not give it a go? You lose only pen'orth of PG & the mint's free anyway!! If I was trying it; I'd let the leaves dry out & shred it for max. surface area exposure to the PG. Mint to PG ratio?...Dunno! When I do My 'baccy, I just make sure that it's covered by the PG & leave it steeping, (washed up & sterilised fish paste jars are wot I use, as I'm only steeping 5g. of 'baccy at a time). Using heat might bring out a stronger flavour (?..) I just prefer the much lazier option of filling a jar & leaving it alone for a few weeks!! As post-mod. states above; arti-flavour concentrates are VERY concentrated so be ready to use around 30% (or more...I've gone to 50% with 'baccies before....) or just use instead of PG when You input into the calculator...ie. a 50/50 mix becomes 50% mint conc. & 50% VG. (+ nic of course...) Personally, I'd have thought that the availability of loadsa commercial mint concentrates makes it more hassle than it's worth, but that might just be because I'm continually steeping diff. 'baccies & get jealous of those that can just grab a bottle & mix!!!!! G/L!
