I add that if there is significant interest in this matter, either in the House or beyond it, it might be regarded as helpful if, through the usual channels, a debate on it were arranged.

I have listened carefully to the hon. Lady’s application, but I am not persuaded that this matter is proper to be discussed under Standing Order No. 24.

(a)Nominations of candidates shall be in writing and shall be received by the Clerk of the House between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm on the day before the House is to elect the Deputy Speakers.

24.—(1) On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday a Member rising in his place at the commencement of public business may propose, in an application lasting not more than three minutes, to move the adjournment of the House for the purpose of discussing a specific and important matter that should have urgent consideration. If the Speaker is satisfied that the matter is proper to be so discussed, the Member shall either obtain the leave of the House, or, if such leave be refused, the assent of not fewer than forty Members who shall thereupon rise in their places to support the motion, or, if fewer than forty Members and not fewer than ten shall thereupon rise in their places, the House shall, on a division, upon question put forthwith, determine whether such motion shall be made.

Yes I agree, its obvious all the email have been heard maybe we need to shout a bit more? Its interesting Jim Dowd Labour) also signed to support the moition just yesterday.

Totally agree with you minime. I will now probably fall into the category VapingBad decribed as apathetic, who cares. Like everyone else, I was taken in when it looked like there was a bit of hope, only to have the carpet pulled from under our feet yet again. I've had enough and wasted enough time writing to MP's, MEP's speaking to local councillors, emailing Lords and ladies and all for what ? I'm resigned to the fact the TPD will stand as is, the political blazers and fat cat Tobacco mob have got vapers by the short and curlies. Time to move on and prepare for what's to come. That lot of scum are not deserving of any more of my time. So for the above reasons, I'm out.

Not at all striker42 you have been "writing to MP's, MEP's speaking to local councillors, emailing Lords and ladies", I was referring to vapers that don't even sign the partitions.

I disagree about us having the piss taken out us by politicians who try and help, but the majority of politicians are not even that interested in us to be bothered to take the piss and agree your sentiments about them.

It's on his own government website under contact.
it's not his personal phone number it's the speakers office number.
