Hi peeps, is there anyone who could give some advice about android tv. I know nothing about it really but I'm fed up paying sky shed loads every month and was wondering if this may be a viable option. What's the picture quality like etc.

You can get Android TV box's from Amazon and China, My own one is a MXIII which only has 1Gb of ram if you can afford it try to get one with 2Gb, the 1Gb runs fine 2 will just give a little wiggle room to allow you to use a bigger cache.

Get one with a keyboard control. I find it easier to use on big tv for installing stuff and updating kodi stuff. Just watched orange is the new black 4 seasons
Had to uninstall and reinstall the boys' plus dagl s one.

I stopped paying sky ages ago. Saves a fortune

If you run Kodi try this "http://infadroid.tk/temp/" Repository and use the Titanium Build, it is absolutely superb. I have added this to numerous friends Firesticks and they love it.

have to say its worth a go
there are several builds(what it looks like)you can try very easily with ares
if you have a smart phone you can try kodi(android tv ) it is free,google kodi on your phone and install it , job done
if you decide to get a box think of it like a smart phone with out a screen so you want tings like 2 gig or more of ram ,storage is not norm a big prob as you can add mem cards ect but bigger as always is better
the quality of the pic can very from awesome to ruddy crap depending on what you want to watch but mostly its good
one thing to consider is if you get a box and use it to watch sky and you don't have sky its not strictly legal
having said all that I have it on my pc, laptop, tv and 3 phones

Tv Mix and Exodus both usually tell what the picture quality should be IE 1080p, HD, or SD. Movies in most things tell you if it is a cam or other source.

You can buy a Firestick for £35 less than the cost of the Android Box from Gearbest and it runs every bit as well with Kodi. I have a Android box and a Firestick and there is no difference in performance when you are actually streaming.
