ive been using android and kodi for about 12 months now and have never looked back. One thing i do like is that no one, and i mean no one, is fully up to date on these as, with most technology, everything moves on at such a rate it is very hard to keep fully up to date.
personaly i stared with a £100 T8....and then you learn it can be done far cheaper, i now have 4 sumvision boxes running in my household, one in the garden even, £28 each and £9 for a bluetooth remote with reverse keyboard ...running kodi 16.1 jarvis, instaled wookie and so far 'megamind' build is the best for me.
i say for me as i use it for movies and tv box sets...and love it.....ill be following this as if a better build exists i will try it, i have yet to find one that has all sports etc in full hd and suffers no dropped links etc

This is probably a stupid question, I have kodi/tvaddons etc running on my pc with no problems but is there a system/box with a more user friendly interface for er indoors, who's even less tech savvy than me. I would love to give sky the boot but its so easy to use.

The Kodi interface is the same, no matter what type of box you run it on It looks the same on Android, Windows, Pi etc
I believe you can set some systems up to boot straight into kodi Then install the repositories after
Just checked out the version on the kodi downloads This one kodi.wiki/view/Kodibuntu Best place to ask about that is the Kodi forum, but don't mention what you intend to use it for. The devs are a bit anal about whats happened to their beloved software

You might try setting it up with the favourites option, so all they need do is go to that.

gear best has a wide range of tv box,s if you know anything about smart phones think of them like that when looking at the specks if not go for the one with the most ram and nuber of cpu cores you can afford www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_356620.html at nearly£100 its a bit ott but will run kodi and much more without probs the main reason I suggest getting something that runs windows 10 is because they update android so often that it could be difficult to keep it working in a year or 2 the other thing that causes probs is most peps connect them over wifi ,don't be lazy its not going to move so hard wire it to the net and it will run much better www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_367840.html seems like a nice cheap box with new ver of android on and its £30 so one months full sky lol you can get android ones for £30 upwards that will do the job of running kodi with out any real probs rust rem to look for more ram and cpu cores

Wondering if there is an add-on for downloading ebooks and audio books on kodi?

the other thing that causes probs is most peps connect them over wifi ,don't be lazy its not going to move so hard wire it to the net and it will run much better
We had a tp link network that used the home electric Biggest waste of thirty quid for being lazy We had one slow down, caused by interference from a laptop power supply plugged in Bt youview boxes power supplies caused more noise New sockets also helped improve speed
I upgraded our wired network to gigabit over the weekend Watching transfer speeds between computers is a grin factor for geeks
