Windows icon bottom left

Hi

Anyone know why the windows icon on the bottom left of screen will not work when I left click on the mouse, it will open another box when I right click the mouse but does not show what I need to look at?

Try checking the mouse properties for the button config, something could have changed, otherwise if not a standard MS mouse you could try uninstalling the driver reboot so that you get the standard MS driver then reinstall the driver for your particular mouse.

Is it the same after a hard reboot...power off and restart

The mouse is fine

Yes it is I have rebooted about 4 times now and still the same.

I had the same problem for a few weeks then one day it just sorted itself out on its own. Luckily I didn't need to use anything I couldn't locate whilst it wasn't working so it didn't really bother me. I did think it was weird though that it just stopped working one day and reappeared again later.

Probably another update cleared the problem.

Does it open when pressing the Keyboard Windows Button between Ctrl and Alt ?

It does now Microsoft Support have sorted it.

Yeah, please do tell us so we know what to do if it happens on our machines.

Not too sure really but I had to alter something in the settings via msconfig, a bit beyond me but it did work, I am sure I will be able to do it again.
