Vapers are Criminals...

Yeah.. We know.. Mad right?
In Australia, a smoker that may want to try vaping as a safer alternative to smoking, not only faces massive obstacles, but could also end up with a criminal record!
It's pretty ridiculous, but we've put together all the main points, which you can read here:

Wow the legislation seems confusing as hell.

One part says where you talk about the 1998 act.

Importing nicotine for personal use is also illegal

But elsewhere in the piece you say.

it’s not illegal to import nicotine liquids for personal use, unless a State prohibits this.

I have to assume the 1998 act is a federal legislation so would that not supersede state law?

Well i have been trying to go there for the last 7 years but kids arriving..house buying etc kept me from going. However next year my dad has said he going to treat me to 2 weeks over there! Just me and him. So ill ask about when im there and see what they say.

I know there has been a recent (last year) case in either Western or South Australia, whereby a shop owner had all his stock confiscated, can't remember if he was also fined or not, he then took the case to the state court and lost, and I believe he also went as far as the federal court and also failed, he raised funds via the internet to fight and also sold his home, think he has now given up due to lack of any more funds and the costs involved.

Why? If a country won't allow me to do something that is not illegal in my country, then why should I go there and give them any of my money. I like a drink now and then (even though I rarely imbibe), but that makes almost all Muslim countries off limits to me, again not that I would want to visit them, think I'll stick to those countries that are closer to home, even if they have clamped down on eLiquid sizing etc

I'm with you Bob, if I can't have a drink or vape then I ain't going there. Would rather spend a weekend in Shrewsbury, in a Marquee, sitting on a straw bale, a plastic receptacle with a little lot of my favourite whisky and have a good laugh.

So with you guys on sticking closer to home. Last year I discovered York and Newcastle - completely different but so good for me and they speak English and have music shops (for sheet music)

Australia is turning into a nanny state. I spend a year there in the mid-eighties, talking to aussies now it isa very different place...but lets think of the children
