TPD and e-liquid

Hello everyone,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but...

When/if the TPD comes in to force (let's hope not...) what would happen to, for example, Re-juiced?

At the moment they do a fantastic weekly deal of 120ml of liquid for £9-10.

I really cant see them sending out 12 x 10ml bottles for the same price?

As of 20th May 2016 the TRPD (i.e. TPD) was added to UK law, we currently in an introductory transition stage : www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/440989/SI_tobacco_products_acc.pdf (Part 6 relates to e-cigs)

Everything will go down to 10ml 'silly sized bottles' and there likely will be a reduced range (as each flavour/strength requires paid MHRA notification, toxicology, liquid and vapor testing .... which is not cheap).

The unit packet and any container pack of the electronic cigarette or refill container may not include any element or feature falling within paragraph (3).


(d) resembles a food or a cosmetic product


Do we think this means the packaging or no more custard/apple pie etc flavours?

Packaging and labeling. Many flavours will still be available.

It will depend on whether the company in question decide to get their flavours approved (at great expense)

The vast majority wont

After that, it's down to the authorities how quickly they close them down. But, there will be a lot less choice on the market.
