Sorry if this has already been asked but I have just ordered an istick pico and it comes with a melo III mini tank which is for sub-ohm vaping. Whilst I am not yet ready to go down the sub ohm route just yet it is something for the future. I think I am right in saying that I can use other types of tank and coils which are more for a mtl vaper like me.
Being fairly new to all this I don't really know where to start, so I'm hoping that you lovely people will give me the benefit of your experience.

You will be fine with that tank, just because it comes with sub ohm coils - doesnt mean you have to use them. you can just buy coils that are over 1ohm You have lots of choice as the melo3 fits aspire atlantis and triton coils (and they come in all sorts of powers) plus the ccell and super tank mini and ijust. Also, Herakles (non plus) and Starre Pro coils work in addition, just ask for links if you want to buy some

I mtl on every single tank I own, I can do direct lung inhales but i don't like or choose to. You just close the airflow slot down a fair bit and use a slim bore drip-tip and mouth-to-lung vaping is doable on almost every tank. I obviously have my favourites as I quite like a tight draw so I only ever do a restricted lung inhale (for those times I want to feel a nicotine hit!)

If you feel you can build your own coils any of the Kayfuns are amazing mouth to lung tanks.

Innokin iSubS is a very good tank and you can get 1.00 ohm stock coils, plus it is top fill.

I've found the 0.3 coil in the melo3 works great at 35-40w. Give the coils a go to see if you like them or not. Higher ohm resistant = less power Lower ohm resistant = more power

Well that's given me a lot of options to try in time. I will play with the settings and see how I go. Thanks everyone ☺

Not sure I'm ready to build my own just yet. Thanks everyone, helpful as always 😀 Can you thread a sewing machine needle? If the answer is 'with difficulty' or 'no' then you can recoil. If you can recoil a protank 2 head a kayfun v.2 is a lot easier (bigger space)... get thy kanthal and thy cotton wool/wicking stuff and get recoiling wifey (that's the end of your a/l and another 10 bottles of hair dye and a wig they forgot to tell you about LOL)

there are 2 types of tanks lung hit type with huge airflow and low ohm coils that you basically just breath throw but you use v low nic juice they make huge clouds and use lots of juice and tbh i dont think they give more flavor that a well set up mouth to lung tank (mtl) they are oddly satisfying to use and do produce a vape you can almost chew lol and i do like them i sub range, atlantis(can use ceramic coils) are 2 the only 2 that i have that take shop coils but when you can make your own there are lots to chose from
mouth to lung tanks have a much tighter draw and are used more like smoking a ciggy they use higher ohm coils so less vapor is produced but your batt lasts a lot longer as do your juice but a much higher nic than what you would use in a sub tank i use these to not smoke and save money nautilus has been very well received but tbh i haven't used a mtl tank with a shop coil for years s i use tanks you put your own coils in as you have a pico why not order a kayfun v3 mini clone from fasttech for around £8 and have a go at making your own as it hs to be one of the essayist tanks to build (youll need some wire and cotton but they cheap)
hope that helps
