i think a lot of peeps that get a VV device end up only upping the voltage a touch from what they used to vape at before ... say around 0.5 of a volt

I did some measurements on the performance of my LT and it works fine at 4 odd volts with a 2 ohm cartomiser - like Gordy says most people probably don't want too much more than that. Be aware though that once the LT shows that your battery has gone down to about 3.7 volts the performance is starting to drop off considerably and it is time to re-charge the battery.
If you want to use a 1.5 ohm device (e.g a DCT) I couldn't get more than about 3.5 volts under load from the LT (whatever it is set at). You get that or more with a simple battery mod - significantly more with a good 18650 battery, so I don't see much point in using the LT for that.

so alvoram and gordy, with HC LR boges i could go up to 5v but i would more likely to prefer 3.75 to 3.8. and dave your saying there is no point me bothering at all with LRs with a 1.5 ohm on the LT.
as the carto is fading and assuming i generally vape @ 3.8 would i step it up to say 4.2 just too keep my vaping similar too 3.8 on a fresh carto or am i getting it all wrong.

Ragjoy, not sure whether you mean as a carto is dying, or when the battery drops, either way though I don't step it up. As a carto fades I replace it, they're only a quid and last long enough, as the battery drops to 3.8 ish I recharge them.
Sorry I have no idea what voltage you'll want to use your 2.0 ohm carto at on a LT, but that's the beauty, now you know you can't go over 5 volts, you can have a play around when you get it, start at 3.5 and work up to a point that it starts to taste wrong, then back down to your sweet spot. If you're currently using Riva's with 2.0 ohm cartos though, I have a hunch your sweet spot will be over 3.7 volts, as a freshly charged riva is higher than that.

it also seem the boges from HC are quite a good option on the LT as it does give a good range for LR carto.......i think!!!!!!!!!

I see what you mean raggy, and honestly I've never tried it, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a LT if sticking it on a 5v PT worked, although I could be wrong.
The LR cartos from HC aren't that low compared to some, so they do have a good range.
I know you didn't want to be tied down with techno jargon, but the power of your vape is measured in watts, and can be altered by changing either the voltage or the resistance (ohms.)
As an example, lets say your battery is outputting 4v (which my 18650's seem to spend the most time at) and you're using a 2.0 ohm carto on your touchwood, that gives you a power of 8 watts (volts*volts/ohms) with a current draw of 2 amps, below the LT's limit of 2.5 amps.
You can achieve the same 8 watts power on a 1.5 ohm carto by dropping the voltage to 3.4 - 3.5 volts, with a current draw of 2.30 amps, just below the LT's limit.
You can also achieve the same 8 watts power on a 3.0 ohm carto by upping the voltage to around 4.9 volts but with a current draw at 1.63, well below the LT's limit.
The point of those examples is this, the LT has a current limit of 2.5 amps I believe. All of the examples above would give you a vape somewhere around what you're currently used to, (8 watts) with any resistance atty. But notice how as the resistance lowers the current increases, despite giving the same end power output, so if you eventually find yourself requiring more power in your vape, you may have to use higher resistance attys. Hope this makes some sense.
** And I hope I haven't got anything wrong, I did this pretty quickly**

thanks alvo, i sort of followed that right upto "I know you didn't want to be tied down with techno jargon" but im sure it will all be easier to make sense when i actually start too use the LT. i can refer back to this once i understand it a little better. thanks for the help. raggy.........

What is probably happening is that a dying carto has (in the cases you describe) higher resistance than normal as it dies. So increasing the voltage makes perfect sense. But where that voltage comes from doesn't matter, electrons are assumed to be pretty much identical wherever they are. If it works with a passthrough there's no reason why it shouldn't work with an LT.

yeah attys and cartos increase in resistance as they get old so you should be able to eek out a little more life from them and be able to up the volts with the lavatube

well ive been using the LT for around a week now and it has been really good. ive only had the back end of one carto and one new one on. there are times when after about 4 seconds it cuts of but im not certain if its me not keeping enough pressure on but the next press is always fine. ive been changing the batts every 24 hrs so i dont know what happens when the batt is getting quite flat and im using no more than 5ml per day. ive been up to 4.2 but really prefer about 3.9 at the minute anyway. overall im very pleased with it and for the price im very happy. one other problem i had was i came out of the supermarket after leaving it in the car for an hour and it was dead on the fire button but the display was still active, i took the tank off and cleaned the threads of the carto and the main LT threads and it was fine again. one question is the juice well totally sealed on the LT, i generally wipe the well out with a piece of tissue and clean it on every tank refill but there never much there.
on the carto leakage at the air holes front ive been using the cocktail stick method and find this has been for me the best method ive used to date. just pop the stick in pre fill and soak in for ten minutes then put it in the tank, im really happy with this method. i do find it less messy to slip on a condom at the bottom while soaking though.

is there a link someone might have to the extra buttons sequences ie: 6 presses of the red button tells you the battery Vs at that time. and if using ie 3.9 or 4v at what point do you guys suggest changing the battery, this morning i checked the battery and it was 3.6v and i was vaping at 4v and it seemed fine. any thread cleaning tips out there as well please, particularly the atty threads and well, is vaseline acceptable on the battery threads.
