Hello each,
Sorry for posting far too many new threads - but vaping is just fascinating me...
I mixed up some Capella V1 @ 15% on 11/8. Couldn't resist it - opened it - vaped some - and it was rather yummy :-)
I'm just a bit confused (or curious...) that something a total newbie like me has made (very simply - just Capella V1+shake+7 days in a cupboard) already seems to taste better than commercially produced custards I have bought....(Agreed, I have probably only bought lower end custards before!!!)
Obviously it's nowhere near a Vaperfog and the like, but certainly a damm sight better than some of the cheaper brands I've tried....
Hmmmmmm.......

Ok firstly, dont apologise for the amount of threads your making...its great. Its what the forum is for!
Secondly...if you think plain cap custard is nice then you got alot to look forward to. The options are endless! You can add alsorts of creams, caramel, biscuit, strawberry etc etc. I think its very dull on it own tbh. But with stuff added to it it makes a really good flavour!

You're not alone.
A local new B&M opened up and I treated myself to some "Milkman".... not a patch on some of the custards I've made from recipes in the mixology section... Premium = price... not quality

ghostrider1971 Welcome to the dark side you simply cannot beat a homemade custard especially something like Custardy Love Child or PVC which are on our recipe boards, most luscious custards IMO, I used to love Mrs B's custard that I bought on-line and Charlies Devilicious but as soon as I tasted my homemade CLC & PVC I converted instantly and now tweak different blends here and there. Trick is to find one you like and make several batches for a couple of weeks then you have a steady back-log steeping that you can vape alone or add to to make a little different. Never never run out of Custard.................... Sat here vaping a slightly tweaked version of CLC right now actually, made in December, well steeped and lush

My first ' proper ' foray into mixing over five years ago now was inspired by grizwald56 who at that time was the Godfather of all things DIY: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/2230/grizwalds-guide-all-mixing?page=1With a selection of dinky 4ml bottles direct from TPA/TFA as other than RY4 it wasn't easy obtaining supplies within the UK - which doesn't seem possible now. All mixed at a straight 20%, nothing else added and Vanilla Custard was one of them - I thought it was wonderful when I tried it ghostrider1971 , in comparison to the very limited range of commercially available eliquid, again at that time. I've been hooked ever since and although recipes have become considerably more refined and sophisticated in the meantime, it's not absolutely necessary to use lots of different concentrates to get a tasty, enjoyable vape to suit your palate . . . . . but it is fun experimenting with the different possible combinations. I'm in my Gingerbread or Strawberry Custard phase at the mo.

Capella custard v1 - 15% Flavourart caramel - 3% This was my go to custard for ages. Doesn't have to be complicated to be lush. Capella custard v1 is one of the all time greats of concentrates for me. Very tasty but also very versatile too! Yummy

If I ain't too keen on a flavour I usually pour some ready made custard in with it. I'm not saying it works with everything but it sometimes does wonders

Tom - Funnily enough I saw your reference to caramel custard yesterday on another thread (maybe the recipe?) and made some yesterday :-) It's the steep patience I now struggle with :-)

It's the steep patience I now struggle with :-) Mix and forget for at least 4 weeks it's the only way with Custards ghostrider1971 . . . . and use something else in the meanwhile, knowing that your patience will pay dividends in the long run. Personally I find custards are at their bestest around the 3+ month mark . . . . . . I'm just using some that I made in January this year, lovely they are.
