I clean my DT with a folded pipe cleaner and the DT socket with a cotton bud.

Well denture tablets do kill bacteria etc and since they are effervescent they knock away the gunge. £1 for a tube so pretty cheap to.

Just put a drip tip into clean.....1 tbsp of bicarb (tis cheaper from cash and carry than denture tabs) with a bit of white vinegar and water in bowl. Doing cos of prompting from this thread and also cos am cleaning my espresso machine:)
Leave for a few hours/overnight
Job done!!! (i really don't have room for an ultrasonic machine!)
