What's Prof doing with a tank?Towards the end of last week I got a phone call from George at OK Smokey - I've known George for years and have used his "Roll Up" juices a lot -
allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/59343/smokey-roll-own-flavours-revisited?page=1&scrollTo=1023247 - asking "do you still do reviews?".
"Yes" I said. "I have a new Aspire mod - would you review it if I send you one?" Asked George. I thought it would be an interesting experience:scratch: (the last regulated device I had was a Nuck's Fistpack) so I agreed. George also asked what tanks I used - I don't use tanks I replied - so he said he would send me a tank too.
I got the stuff reviewed here free of charge, but I will always tell the truth as I see it
I've reviewed the NX80 in the partner review to this one:
allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/64970/prof-reviews-aspire-nx80so this is mainly about the Cleito...
To put this review in context, please remember that I'm an "old school" mech mod with RDA man who uses 24mg tobacco juices with sub-ohm coils and Vapes mouth to lung
This is the first "sub ohm" tank I've ever had (and the first tank I've used in quite a long time).
Anyway, this is what I got:
Opening the box revealed:
The box contains one complete Cleito with a 0.4ohm atomiser fitted, a second 0.2ohm atomiser, a spare glass tube and a selection of rubber "collars".
Here is the complete Cleito:
Disassembling shows the top cap (which screws onto the top of the atomiser and makes a seal with the glass tank:
The supplied wide bore drip tip sits over the end of the top cap. For those wanting a narrower drip the supplied tip can be removed and a normal tip inserted into the end of the cap.
The glass tank tube pulls off the base. The underside of the base has a normal 510 connection and the atomiser screws into its upper side.
The atomisers come in 0.4 and 0.2 ohm versions and can be replaced by buying packs of 5 of the chosen resistance. They are basically of the "perforated carto" variety with vertical internal coils. (There is a rebuildable deck available for the Cleito which provides for the use of self build horizontal coils).
The base unit has a airflow ring with three slots, which open/close together:
The Cleito comes with a selection of rubber collars which fit o er the end of the top cap and provide a cool surface for the lips to touch. Here is the assembled Cleito with a collar fitted:
In UseThe Cleito is easy to fill - just unscrew the top cap, fill the tank outside the atomiser, and replace the cap.
I normally vape at anything from 0.2 or 1.0 ohms so, with the 0.4 ohm atomiser, I set the NX80 to 40 watts, the airflow to as tight as I could, and with the tank filled with Real Extracts 24mg Pecan Tobacco juice, I fired things up...
I have never found a tank which delivers the quality of flavour I get from my Hellfire/Nutz/RSM etc drippers and the Cleito is no exception - don't get me wrong - it's not bad, just not as good. With the three airflow slots it is difficult to get the tightness of flow I prefer. So, whilst it is acceptably usable for mouth to lung vaping it's just not as good as a good RDA. I also found the vape at 40 watts hotter than I did with my more agressively coiled Snapdragon on the same NX80. This was mollified by increasing the airflow.
Basically, this type of sub-ohm tank device is aimed at the direct lung inhaler - with the airflow opened wide and the power up to 50 watts I got good direct lung performance (sitting down at 24mg I should stress) with fair flavour a good clouds of vapour. Used this way, the Cleito is a thirsty beast.
This tank is not really for me, but it would be good value for a "middle of the road" lung inhaler.
