This purchase was about as "spur of the moment" as it can get. I visited the Attysmith website more or less by accident (I was looking at my recent browsing history) and when the site opened I went to the Atties section as that what I have bought from Hellfire previously. To my amazement, in amongst the expected "out of stock" signals was a glowing red "add to cart" button. How could I refuse?
That was on Thursday night, and in typical Hellfire rapidity, my Havoc arrived Saturday morning.
The Havoc is a single or dual coil atomiser with adjustable airflow designed to accommodate both "old school" mouth to lung Vapers and those who like to direct lung inhale and those who chase clouds...
What did I get?As always from Hellfire, I got a Jiffy bag containing:
Inside this was a snap bag containing:
... Spare o-rings, spare post screws, a solid (non-bottom-fed) pin, and what I would call a "chuff" drip tip.
And, of course, the Havoc:
The Havoc came with the bottom-fed pin fitted:
I don't squonk, so I got out my hex-keys and swapped the pin:
The top cap has a large opening to accommodate the supplied big-bore tip:
It is also has three cut-away areas on its inside rim which make up half of the air-flow control for either single or dual coil builds.
There is a metal insert for the top-cap which allows the use of standard drip tips:
The chimney pulls of the base to give access to the deck:
Note the well is decently deep, the positive terminals are offset providing a good area for both coils and wick, and the small raised parts on the terminals by the screws aid building by helping the screws trap the wires.
Here is the chimney viewed from its top end:
Note again the cut away areas - these match up with the ones in the top-cap and the openness of airflow is adjusted by the degree to which the chimney and cap cut-ways are offset from each other. The chimney needs to be appropriately oriented to the coils for single (using one slot) or dual-coil (two slots) builds.
Using the HavocI build mainly for mouth to lung vaping, so I put the insert into the top-cap:
Here is the simple single coil build I made:
And here it is tidied up and wicked with Puff cotton:
I replaced the chimney with the central cur-away aligned to the coil, replaced the top cap and adjusted it to give a fairly tight airflow. I had done the building with the Havoc screwed onto my NX80, so I started out with that:
Here are the "figures" for my initial trial:
How do I find it?As I sort of expected (it is a Hellfire product after all), it all worked splendidly. I got a decent tight draw, excellent flavour and excellent vapour. I have tried the big bore tip and wide open airflow and it is seems to me those who like such things will be well pleased too. I'm very impressed by how well the Havoc seems to accommodate the full range of vaping styles.
I like this atomiser so much I have moved it onto something which to me seemed more appropriate and I am now happily using it on my Super T ELA with Satburn switch...
