I'd rather not go for removable batteries - too much faff and too much stuff to carry with me when I'm away from base. I prefer the idea of simply sticking a USB cable in its bottom (ooer) and also having pass through facility.
[ETA] thanks for the vids though - I like the idea of a vertical coil in an OCC head.

Can't go wrong with an I-Stick variation, my daily drivers all day every day, quick to charge and easy to navigate IMO and I've not had a tank that doesn't fit well on them. Go for an original 30w upwards though as they have the better 510 connection, the 20w ones are a bit like butter although to be fair mine are still going strong but I've always used an adaptor on them so the threads aren't stressed at all.

The istick 30w and 50w both have good quality 510 threads that are not made out of monkey metal The earlier versions of the isticks, were prone to the 510's stripping A friend that started vaping at Christmas, got the same set up, istick and subtank. Plenty of power, plenty of battery life and minimal faff I have two 50w versions and still use them daily, very nice feel in the hand

Unless you are craving more clouds and toys, IMO the best tanks to buy with a steady supply of coils from China is Eleaf GS tank (22mm), Eleaf GS Air, Eleaf GS Air "M" (original or styled)..... with the 1.2ohm atomizers. Nobody mentions these, but my disciples are many and wide-spread. World domination will surely follow.

OK, time for a quick update. I got hold of a second iStick and a Subtank mini clone. The iStick is fantastic and I will definitely be investing in a new one very soon. I like the flexibility of being able to screw pretty much anything onto it and have it work or adjust it if it isn't right. They are very dinky in the hand and with regular resistance coils the battery lasts for ages. For the Subtank I'm not so sure. I get the idea of sub-ohm: loads and loads of vapour, more than smoke I could ever make even with one of my fattest rollies, but apart from that, I can't see the point of vaping at 3ml/hour or drawing 10-25W from your battery. I already get clouds aplenty from an EVOD on an Ego battery, I'm more interested in flavour and reliability (oh, and economy ). Plus I used my normal 20mg juice, so it gave me mad nightmares . So whilst i Like the idea of a "forever" clearo/tank, the sub-Ohm route is not for me. I was leafing through the other thread about Nautilus or Nautilus mini - that seems a better way to go.

If you like your Evod tanks domesticextremist then why not just use them on the I-Stick? You'll need an adaptor for them but it's what I used when I got my first I-Stick and never a problem, coils are a doddle to re-do so they would be ever lasting for you? But I have to admit that once I got my little Nautilus tanks and all the others that I have invested in, the Evods were banished. I do have a small stash of them upstairs in a box just in case........ I will second djs idea of the GS range of tanks as well, I have originals and clones and they are great little tanks run at low watts. Another option is the Ego range of tanks, the CLR coils are simple to re-wick, I haven't had to actually re-coil any of mine, just dry burn & re-wick them and they are going fine. I'm not a great sub ohm vaper, I like a good hit in the evenings 0.6ohm DTL with some 4mg custard but all day every day is 6-8mg MTL on a Nautilus, Ego and always a Protank in there on coils from 1ohm to 1.8ohm, I have a variety of different MTL tanks and use them all as I change flavours constantly. Simple, efficient and satisfying. I also have a Kayfun V3 mini & have actually managed to coil that myself as well and find it easy to use but it doesn't leave the house - LOL!

Thanks for that - at least I found out sub Ohm was not for me cheaply and quickly Plus I have a platform for whacky experiments when they occur to me. I switched to EVOD because the T3S seem to be dying off, a great clearo but the polycarbonate tanks don't last forever. I've recently figured out how to recoil/rewick these heads so the only limiting factor is the life of the polycarbonate. TBH EVOD don't quite have the capacity I would like, though I do enjoy the vape they give. 1.8 Ohm is a tad on the low side for the iStick I currently have so I tend to keep them on an Ego battery as a walking around vape. I think I'll do a bit more research on the Nautilus Mini and the ProTank...

I think I'll do a bit more research on the Nautilus Mini and the ProTank... Protanks still rock in my world Dom . . . . I enjoy the vape plus the heads are the same as an Evod so are a doddle to recoil! Extremely reasonable to pick up now: myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/protank-2.htmlThere's also the option of placing a Wanted ad to see if anyone has one that needs re-homing.

I've seen them online and they are pretty cheap but I haven't been able to find many reviews. Are they good for flavour/a nautilus alternative? I like the look of the 4ml version :-)

Are they good for flavour/a nautilus alternative? I like the look of the 4ml version :-) Have a read (reviews and discussions) www.fasttech.com/products/2906200The slim ones are popular in the US (lot of pages on ECF) and I've ordered the "M styled" from Fasttech to try. In the UK both the tanks and coils seems a bit expensive to me, but that's just me probably. I cannot get the TC coils to work and the 0.75 ohms is prone to dry hits from what I hear. I'll be getting some more and plenty of coils ordered by November, just in case. Oh yes... they are a great Nautilus alternative. The fact you can buy the coils easier from FT is a bonus. I would say they don't last quite as long but they are more flexible with airflow options i.m.o. 6-10 days I'd guess. (7-10 from Nautilus at my power).

I'm just getting into the GS Air tanks djs . . . . started with the small one using the 0.75ohm coil it came with, no dry hits for me incidentally. Then was lucky enough to pick up the larger size in a great Classified deal, which I'm getting on a treat with. I've bought replacement 1.2ohm heads from FT, had one iffy so far - but that can happen with any of the brands I find. Have you tried re-coiling them? I had a go, but couldn't get the outer casing off . . . . . .
