Ok following on from my Are Cartos Dead? thread, it has become clear that they are and that even with the help of the knid folks here ( - you know who you are ), I'm going to run out of road sooner than later. I also notice quite a few absentee returners who, like myself, have lost touch with all the latest and greatest developments and, like me, might be thinking it's time to invest in an AVP and a tank system but have no clue about what is good or bad these days. I'm thinking a suitable AVP might work out cheaper than a constant stream of Ego batteries and give me a bit more flexibility about what I screw onto it. I've seen a few things that look good from eLeaf, Kanger and Innokin, and looked at a few reviews, but I'm seeking recommendations from those in the know. A tank will be a replacement for my carto tank and will be needed for robustness whilst out and about. I'm not bothered about cloud chasing or sub-Ohm. I'd like something with reasonably priced heads that could, if need be be rewicked and recoiled. For both I will apply the same requirements as I do to my car - cheap to buy, cheap to run and reliable. Don't care what colour it is or need Carlos Fandango wide-wheels. Mod: about £30 to buy new. Tank: don't know, I think maybe a tenner if that's realistic. So fire away folks

Is that £30 UK shopping or £30 Asia shopping?
Fixed battery or removable battery?
Premade coils or can you rebuild coils?

Fixed battery, probably UK bought though not a firm requirement or price limit.

You probably won't go wrong with a Kangartech Subtank Nano, and an eLeaf mod (your choice is extensive, but you probably only need a smaller one). The Kangar ST replacement coils are cheap, and can be recoiled (although not by someone with too many thumbs). The eLeaf mods are well made and reliable. Some use a separate battery, so that choice is yours. A fair step-up from what you are used to, but not mental. That is as long as you don't want to get into mega cloud territory.

I think someone alread mentioned in your other thread about DNA Vapes having a sale on, you may find a mod there as they had a few in the £20 range.

Any Kangar tank you go for, stick with silver I have four black ones here with paint problems, paint flaking off inside the tanks
Kangar are bomb proof tanks Plus most shops sell the heads and plenty of choice in resistance options on the heads

I've seen recoil vids for the OCC heads and they look quite easy. Presumably one could put in a higher resitance coil, say 1.8, and have no problems?

If you can do it domesticextremist , you can make whatever resistance you want. And a big-up to the painted tanks. Steer clear. Have a plain stainless one if you choose to have one.

In that case then, subtank mini or toptank mini. One is top fill, the other bottom fill, but both come with the rba
8 wraps of 28awg kanthal with a 2.5mm inner will give you the required resistance, or somewhere near

Although the tanks for a rebuildable atomiser are bigger. If that doesn't matter, get one.
