Esme we have four cats luckily all short haired but they still shread hair everywhere! They love being brushed they do like to have a good sniff of the brush first mind you Food is a headache because one miniute they love it and the next they turn there noses up and walk away We often cook up white fish for them which always goes down well. Interesting info on the dried biscuits which i never knew, mine usually have whiskas with the little treats in, does anyone know if they are ok?

If they're eating mainly wet food it's not as much of a problem, it seems to affect them more if they're on dried food only. Just don't overdo it with the 'treats'

Used to have 3 cats back in India and luckily never had to give them any branded cat food.
Their favourate was fresh fish (I am from coastal parts and fish was a staple diet). They used to wait patiently when the fish was getting cleaned and loved the head and internal parts of the fish.
Plus we had some land and all three were very good hunters (The worst part was it would bring its kill sometimes half eaten to the house to prove itself and since there were three it would be a competition between them). One of them even got me a full grown eagle. To this date I dont know how a cat could nab an eagle.
So you can try some raw fish or fish internals as I dont think a cat would turn away from raw fish (Make sure it is not frozen or too cold)

Hi, Get your cat some lifestage from www.jollyes.co.ukYou will never look back, I have a long haired ginger tabby who turns his nose up at fresh chicken and he goes mad for it, cleared up his messes a lot also.

Never heard of Jollyes or Lifestage, that's a new one to try - one day when I get another cat, I live in hope Esme, I do sympathise re grooming-hating cats, I had to take my rescue Persian to a groomer because I couldn't be firm enough with her, and she ended up with scratches all over her fore-arms I also sympathise with furball problems, another of my cats went off the paste and I even had to force that down Oh we do love them though

I've not heard of Lifestage either. will see if they sell it down here.
He's still be so picky with what he eats at the mo........ tearing hair out trying to find something that his lordship will consent to eat.
I should be mad at him but he looks at me with his big green eyes............. and I just give in...... lol

Esme, have you tried looking at his teeth & gims to make sure his mouth isn't sore? Or is that a silly (dangerous) suggestion?

yes I have checked and got nicely nipped for my pains!! His teeth & gums seem fine (if the blood pouring from my hand is anything to go by ) Chrissie......... I think he is just having a fussy moment. I remember when he was a kitten, he completely went off Whiskas kitten food, nothing I did would make him eat it, that when I started giving him Iams. Think its one of those moments lol
