... They ought to in that case Dave . . . . I tried a dual head into a early FT clone, it screwed into the base all ok but the tank part wouldn't go over the longer chimney. Shame you don't live nearer otherwise I'd pop a couple in the post for you to try! Thanks muchly - for both the info and thought. No problems at the moment. I've got a few boxes of commercial single head cotton coils on the way that I know will fit. Enough to keep her going for a good while and to see if she'll stick with these or would like to try something else. ... Seven years next April I'll have been vaping - no one is more astounded than me!.. Seven? Good for you! I feel much the same after only three. Long habits broken - and we are so much the better for it. Frankly, I was amazed I made it thro that first week. But you really musta seen mucho changes in gear over your time - mayhap, sometime, a thread detailing some of the things you've seen? I certainly have heard about tea bags and aquarium filters and other strange stuff.... and am glad I didn't have to deal with those sorts of things. Things are certainly easier for new vapers nowdays - much more range "off the shelf". ... Assuming she stays with it *fingers crossed*, .. Which is the main thing . . . . . Yes! Complete agree.

Including squeezing the last dregs of any eliquid out of our filler materials and reusing, in the interests of frugality. How gross that sounds now! In all honesty the faffing was just viewed as something necessary to do in order to not smoke - so it wasn't a great hardship really. Now however, vaping and DIY eliquid has never been simpler to get to grips with . . . . . and hurray for that! Such an enormous shame, verging on injustice for me that our habit is having the very tots regulated out of it around the world. Criminal.

That was a bust.
Our friend has had second thoughts and called it off. Apparently the maintenance required has put her off the whole deal.
She's saying she'll now do the "reduce the number smoked little by little" thing....
Disappointing - but what can you do except be supportive if and when she needs help?
Ah, well. *sigh* At least I'll have fresh coils here ready for the next time - either for this person or someone else.

..What a bummer...but sometimes there is just no helping folk True that. It's the old story: you can lead a horse to water ... With things as life altering as swapping from smoking to vaping, I'm of the opinion that first the person concerned has to really want it, else it's likely to fail. There were no ill words and she knows I'm willing to help... so maybe in time. *fingers crossed*.

The necessary ' maintenance ' is I would suggest an excuse - in reality your friend probably isn't ready or in the right place to say goodbye to tobacco - vaping does take some willpower and commitment initially until it becomes the norm, as most of us have doubtless experienced. I'm in a similar situation with a gent I met out dog walking . . . . . Like most things, if you don't really want to do it then you're defeated before you start sadly.

That certainly echo's my own experience. I remember having to work at vaping for quite a while - until, as you say, it became natural for me. I'm in a similar situation with a gent I met out dog walking . . . . . Well, good luck to you and your Dog Walking Man ! Like most things, if you don't really want to do it then you're defeated before you start sadly. Yep. (and to make some light of a serious subject) Like me and DIY juice mixing.

I have converted one friend who is not a natural vaper but unlike in your case she just lives 100yards up the road. I mix all her ejuice, change her coils and buy all her kit. Bit difficult to do unless you see someone very often. I have also given a relative who wants to quit a whole outfit but not had any progress reports I suspect that like your friend he sees it as all too much faff. Knowing what a life saver vaping is I guess a lot of us would like to turn our friends and family but it is not easy; people get paid for doing it and they usually fail. Better luck next time mate.

But I find ya gotta carefully tread that fine line between being helpful/informative and being seen as a pro-vaping zealot who most would rather avoid.

It was not my main job but I did some counseling training years ago and one rule I remember is the person has to take the decisions and the responsibility for any change themselves. If you do too much of the work the change becomes something you 'own' not them. I never talk about vaping to non-vapers unless they ask me. Fortunately among my circle of f&f there are only a few smokers left; I just make sure I vape with a satisfied smile on my face whenever I see them smoking. They probably just think smug ******* though.

Although, over time, some of those people (both smokers and non-smokers) are seeing the improvements to my health. That I can now do more than ever before (anything physical/active). That does tend to get some of 'em in asking questions. They probably just think smug ******* though.. Well, there is that !

A little update on my ' conversion project ' DaveJ . . . . . my dog walking gentleman acquaintance hasn't had a cigarette since early Tuesday, I've caught up with today. He's tried ( and abandoned ) Champix, the useless puffer things our Quit Smoking clinics dish out and numerous ' counseling ' sessions. I started him off with the massively overpriced Gamucci cigalikes as we had them reduced at work for 99p - from £9.99! Thought I'd see how he got on with those first before venturing into more advanced waters . . . . . they went down swimmingly well! Encouraged by that, I set him up with a couple of Spinners, some GS-H3's, spare coils and a few flavours of eliquid mixed @16mg . . . . . he tried the Red Astaire and said, I don't think I'll be buying cigarettes again - this is lovely. Early days yet . . . . but it's quite promising so far.
