windybill - Welcome, Sir :-) Maybe try T-Juice 'Red Astaire' - that certainly has a flavour poke :-) Otherwise, Rejuiced does a "Menthol molatov" - that's serious stuff

I puffed away on 18mg Cinnamagic, Bestegcigs Dark Moon and space junky, t-juice minty the toff and Colonel Boom's Blackpowder for a couple of months before my taste buds returned. they still haven't been able to decipher some of the more complex ready made juices. Now I'm pretty much settled with home bred vanilla custards of one variety or another, a bit of Manabush or Red Astaire as a boost.

Hi windybill and welcome.
Have to agree with most of what the others have said. To start with I would concentrate on getting your nicotine hit right - that will enable you to get off the tobacco sooner, so try using higher strength juice. Tobacco really does knacker your sense of taste and smell and you will find it is a while before you really appreciate juices to their full. It took me a month or so of vaping and smoking together before I had my last smoke, so don't worry too much about doing the two together, your body will tell you when you've had too much nicotine. Once you've found your best nicotine level, you can go on to the joys of finding which flavours you like best. The good news is the starter kits around today are miles better than what was around when most of us started vaping. HTH and stick with it.

HTH = "Hope that helps" (I had to Google that one ) Crikey - and I thought I was old One other thing I would add for windybill is rather than shelling out for expensive tanks to try and get your best flavour, you'd be better getting hold of some clearomisers. There are some very good ones out there atm (e.g EVOD, CE5) and you will save a lot of money while you figure out your best set up.

Hi and welcome windybill,
I did have flavour issues when I first started..
I did think the higher nicotine was a good idear smoking 20 a day myself.. But I started to get headaches, I dropped down to 10mg, which was great, no headaches or sore throat.
I smoked as well as vapeing,, I drop down to only smoking at home and vape in work. I got down to 6 cigarettes a day, and did that for maybe a year, and was so happy that I had cut down so much.. I was happy with my kit but didn't get a lot of flavour. I do use 50/50 and 70/30. Which should have been fine.. i found it was the ohm of the coils and the wick type..
I only vape Mint Chocolate Chip, from paradise vape,, it's sooooo goooood... Taste just like the ice cream.. I have jucies tried from other places but it's has a nutty taste which I don't like...so just stick to one you like .
I use a basic gsh2. Takes 2ml of juice. I use both 1.8ohm or 1.5ohm coil.. With a COTTON wick.. Only. (Better flavour with cotton, no plastic taste or burning in my throat). I got the gsh2 from eBay,, but now buy the coils from fasttech.(not eBay, hit and miss if they send out the right ohm you ordered) They also fit the MT2, protank and evod . I have a variable battery which I start at the lowest voltage 3.3v and upto 3.8v. And the vape is perfect..
its now the best vape ever.. I get a better flavour indoors, rather then outside..(cold air).
But yeah takes awhile to get a flavour you'll like , I have loads of jucies I tried and hated.

Hi ya windybillGood luck to you in your attempt at the big switch. To summarise what has been said by others already: * 3mg/ml nic strength is very light to kick a long history of fair to heavy smoking. Especially if using anything except the heaviest hitting "direct to lung" gear. Do not be scared to up that nic strength considerably from your existing 3 mg/ml. I started with 24 mg/ml and I certainly didn't ever suffer any "nic overdose" symptoms. Rather, for a good long while, I felt I was under doing it. Your body will soon tell you if you are overdoing the nic. And if you do encounter that situation, simply "cool it" for a while and all will be good. * After 50 years smoking your taste is probably blown. It likely will improve sometime after you finally kick the smokes. (Well it does for most - I was not one who saw that). Until then, your vaping taste is likely to be all over the place. * Picking simple but strong flavours - such as menthol or aniseed - may help. And a couple of thoughts of my own to add: * I'm of the opinion that many juice makers nowdays are reducing the flavour strength in e-juice to cater for the direct lung hitters - where the extra vapour produced also produces stronger flavours. Given the strength of juice you have is 3 mg/ml - maybe it's been brewed with somewhat reduced flavour with that Direct To Lung market in mind? * Whilst some say so - I could never tell much difference in flavour when altering the PG/VG ratio in my mixes. Perhaps some can - but I do not think that is likely to be a big issue for you right now. * Maybe you could run two or three different flavours concurrently - that is, have two or three like setups, each with a completely different type of flavour loaded. Only use each one for a few minutes or so, then swap to the next. I find this helps tired taste buds. * I thought I wanted a tobacco flavour to replace what I was giving up. I didn't listen to all those who advised me otherwise. Eventually I had to confess to those folk they were right. It's only now, 3 years later, that I can appreciate some tobacco style flavours (only a limited few, mind) as part of my daily rotation. Maybe you could also consider something wildly different - like some fruits, bakery styles or even UNFLAVOURED. Don't be scared to try unflavoured. It is a viable alternative if you run several flavours in rotation. (*) Good luck to you. * Despite what some flavouraholics around here will say *grin*

Hi Wisher, thanks for your input, smoking and vaping is not going to get me anywhere!! It's quite a big psychological step to just dump smoking in favour of vaping, especially if you haven't got your liquid sorted to your satisfaction, and a lot of people do both for a while. it took me a couple of months of doing both before I finally stopped smoking but I haven't had a fag since and I haven't wanted one either. One step at a time 😀
