Hi thebishman, I had reason to clean out my latest Nautilus Base this morning and found that it is different from my older bases.

On the older bases, if you stick a pin through any air hole, you can see the shaft of the pin viewed from the top.

On the latest bases, there is a deeper side ring behind where the knurled ring sits that prevents any access through the airholes.

I'm sure the manufacturers have a good reason for changing the bases, although for the life of me I cannot see why as this makes the base more likely to clog.
