I bought an LT, and for some reason, whatever combination of tank, single or dual coil cart i use, it costs out around 5/6 seconds.... now i sent it back to FV and they tested and it seemed ok. got it back, same problem. THen Kev graciously swapped it out for a different tube and he is using my old one with no problems, so it is obviously not related to the tube itself ( he tested with my tank and battery )... any ideas...bit of a head scratcher??? i do live on a hill, but can't think of any other reasons

Running at too high a voltage? Or has it always been raining when this has happened James?

James, maybe the answer for you is to get a Throathit monster mod - they are virtually indestructible and will run a 1.5 ohm DCT at 6 volts if you want to rip your throat out

Did you try using it while facing NSW during light winds on a cloudy day?

Silly question but did you time it properly jlowdo?
The LT stated cut off time is 10 seconds as far as I can remember.

Well it is "double barreled" in the sense that it runs on twin 18650 batteries. Here's mine: Attachments:

lietrally 4.4v absolute max. and as you can see from my avatar, i'm a watch nut, so could give you an even more accurate time than 6 seconds.... just very strange.

I'm seriously beginning to think about static affecting the electronics in the LT and Provari , there seems to be a common element to both and that is jlowdo . Seeing as Kev is not having any trouble, maybe try wearing a wrist to earth strap and see what happens

Seeing as Kev is not having any trouble, maybe try wearing a wrist to earth strap and see what happens That was my first thought storm, could it be static build-up, but seeing as the OP is a watch nut (James own words ), wouldn't that also affect his watches too? I remember my mum having to have a thick'ish rubber pad on the back of her watch because of static. James, I sometimes have button trouble with my LT, but that's nearly 4 months old and has had daily use, could it be that you're releasing the button pressure without realising it ... clutching at straws here.

When you press the switch the atty connector goes live..
If you connect a multimeter to the connector you should see what voltage it is putting out under no load conditions and for how long..
