Prompted by a discussion earlier today, I thought I'd have a go at putting CE2 innards into a 3.5ml DCT The XL is 50mm long, but the tank is only45mm with a clear gap between the caps of 24mm. From the base of the XL to the top of the silicone cap being 42mm.

So to seal the base cap and acommodate the extra length, I cut a 20mm section of cartomiser tube. The carto is a bit loose over the base of the CE2, so I had to apply a bead of superglue (below the o-ting) to hold ii firmly in place. Not so keen on this, but by keeping it below the o-ring, hopefully I won't end up vaping super glue

To seal the top end, I cut another section of carto tube. This just grips nicely onto the silicone cap that goes over the ceraminc cup. To stop it going wonky/falling inside the carto, I puishrd a carto soft cap down inside the tube. Assembly - it is best to fit the tank end cap first then push the drip tip and tube through, lining it up over the wicks then pushing gently home.

Filling is a cinch - just pull out the drip tip and tube, our in juice (just keep everything upright ) It feels a bit ricketty putting together, but once assembled it is OK.

Here it is finished - took about 40 mins No leaks (so far), no juice in the gob, no dry hits (so far) and no syringes. Yay! I reckon I could have got away with about 5mm less on the base tube, but there is still a juice well there, so I made sure the wicks were tucked into it. With a standard size clearo this should work much better and fit pretty perfectly.

Nice work and great photos Dom..Like a stardust on steroids with that drip tip sealing method .. Couldn't it have been done with the CE2 plastic tube or is that a tad big to fit the bungs on the short tank?
