 it never is is it, problem is over the last 6 - 12 mths so much has moved on its getting harder and harder to say what is the best as we all like different styles of vaping.
Also what i think looks good you may think looks gash.

I like the look of the smok alien but been put off with price and peoples views of smok
the isub s looks good and sounds good but no idea if its dtl or mtl or what mod

The alien is a good set up but has external batterys so you will need 2 sets per mod and a charger and that is a full on DTL set up.
the cool fire has built in battery and the s tank can be used for either MTL or DTL i would say its more DTL but you can get some 
2.0 ohm coils for it and turn the airflow right down tight and use it as a MTL set up so best of both worlds really.

Sub ohm is for DTL and use's coils less than 1.0 ohm's and 
most MTL set ups use coils above 1.0 ohm's.

Depends which coils you use c1booth . . . . 0.5ohm, then they're DTL.
