hi I'm after a little advice please me and the wife are looking to get back off the cigs and vaping again we previously had istick 30w with protank2 on top which were good for about a day or so before the coils was crap we've been to a local vape stall and like the look and sound of a smok not 100% on the model but I think its r40 kit after looking on smoks website cost £45 per kit the woman at the stall said the coils are good for 6 week which I know is sales talk but if she says that they must last longer than kanger does anyone have any advice on this kit or any other to look at? thanks

Gosh. 6 week coils are BS. That's for sure. Smok made a whole host of sh** mods in 2015 which died very quickly. Now they are the 'golden boys/girls' of the vaping scene with no apparent cost to their reputation for selling unreliable stuff for ages. I cannot explain this phenomenon. Personally, having used a lot of mods and 'basic consumer level' tanks (I can't be arsed with posh hardware for work) the question is - how powerful do you want to vape? If you want to vape at 12-14 watts, the GS Air tanks are excellent. I like the 'M' tank as it doesn't pool liquid in the drip tip. There's still the Nautilus BVC hanging in there with 10-14 watts usual power. For a little stronger, the iSubs are good, as Perpetua suggests. For stronger still, the original Uwell Crown is an awesome 'factory coil' tank. (35 watts and higher if you like) Then you've got the Aspire Cleito which in the 0.4ohm can go to 40 watts Speaking my mind, I have little interest in Smok tanks or those crazy priced coils. The new mods are innovative, but all this "let's make a high power tank and then limit the juice to 2 or 3ml" is not my kind of logic. So, you can see what I think. (On the fence, as ever... )

What kind of device are you looking for c1booth ? Battery type, wattage range, budget would help with recommendations. Well done to you and your good lady for wanting to get back to vaping.

so basically we want built in batteries with a good tank that produces good vape and throat hit and coils that last as long as possible with little messing around size aint an issue to a degree I don't want huge but a little bigger than my old stick 30w is ok around £100 for 2 kits
edit mrs now doesn't mind separate charging batteries if these are supposedly safer to use and charge

I still like (and use)
Joyetech eVic mini VTC. iStick 40w and iStick Pico.
The Coolfire 4 (TC?) with the independent battery is a good 'un.
At home, I slum it with a Fuchai (Sigelei) 213 (no good for temp control) as it last days and days and can power more easily than the 75w eVic, not that I need more than 75w but I do run some fat dual coils.
There is a Joyetech coil called CLR (rebuildable) which fits some Joyetech tanks. Easy to re-wick but not much of a power tank.... up to 18w, maybe before the dreaded dry hit might strike.

aaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh I hate decisions lol why can't it just be this is the best one it never is is it, problem is over the last 6 - 12 mths so much has moved on its getting harder and harder to say what is the best as we all like different styles of vaping. Also what i think looks good you may think looks gash.
