My first question on here, (please be gentle lol)
Right I have seen many things on the web about the different systems that are available and that you can use one bit of one system and another bit from another. So here is my Question.
What are the threads/connectors that are used on different systems?
I believe that even though some have different names by the manufacturers they are actually the same.
From a lot of digging about i have come to the conclusion that E-Lites use a 4081 type connector between the battery and the cartomiser.
What would be useful would be a table listing the brand/model and the associated thread/connector
So for a starter this is what I have
E-Lites G9 type - Battery screw thread internal female (4081) G9 type - Cartomiser screw thread external male (4081)
Moju Newbie kit Battery screw thread internal (510) Atomizer screw thread external (510) Cartridge push fit (flat sided tube)
If any of you could correct me and add more information I will amend it to this post so that it will be the first one with all of the type of fittings that are known. I think it might be a real help to people out there like me that get confused with all of the different names for the same thing like the "510" being the same as the "DSE" and "Joye 510" style battery connections.
I am also hoping that someone will confirm that i am correct with the guess of the E-Lites being a 4018 connector.
Many thanks and hope to get some responses soon.

Ok I feel a complete NUMPTY now. I have just looked at the link at the top of the page for people like me who are new to e-cig's. I think that i was way off on the thread issue thing. But saying that I think a compatability chart would be a good idea, particularly for people like me whi get the wrong end of the stick (ciggy)

Hello & welcome to the forum BD. A compatibility guide is something that Chrissie is keen to provide and she's in the process of compiling one right now . . . so if any one else has any relevant info, it would be appreciated. A lot of us started off with cig a likes so it's handy information to have . . . although the vast majority swiftly progress to something that has a better battery run time and is more versatile with what can be screwed in to it.

Hello & welcome Batdragon As Perpy says, a compatibility list, especially of the ciggie-lookalikes that new user tend to go for, is on my list of things to do. One of the problems is that branded e-cigs like e-lites, sky, Gammuci, VIP etc, go out of their way not to let you know what thread their e-cigs are as they make most of their money from folks having to go back to them to buy spares. Added to that some of them changed from the models they used to supply. I know there is a compatibility chart on ECF that I linked to in my how to get started pinned thread, but it is a bit out of date & is mainly aimed at the American market.

Hi, and #welcome2# batdragon. Everyone is so friendly on here, and can provide you with loads of info . I started with an E-Lite cig-a-like as someone I knew was using them, but swiftly - within a week #icon_rofl# - moved on to the SD Keyring, and about two weeks after that got the eGo T. I've been using that ever since and love it #icon_thumbsup# . The e-lite was a good way to try out an e-cig, but "proper" e-cig kits deliver so much more. The SD was much better than the cig-a-like, but the battery only lasts for a couple of hours, and the 510s have a much longer vape time Anyway, hope you're enjoying vaping, it's been a revelation to me, and i haven't even been tempted to have a real cig since I started #icon_veryhappy#

The atty would cope with 2 amps but the issue is what power supply you are planning to use..Most generic power supplies max out at 2 amps..You need t0 buy one that maxes out at 3.3-3.5 amps. The juice might also taste burnt..
You might find it better to use a 3 ohm atty with a 5 volt passthrough but taste is a personal thing..

A standard resistance attie should be Ok for 5v vaping, though it may burn out quicker than using with 3.7v.

Been reading up on power supplies and have found out lap tops NO same as desktops usb not powerfull enough, was looking at stuff from maplins but aslo looking at a pt with battery to stabilise the the input and output if that makes sense.I seem to be able to drain a standard 510 in about an hour and first thing in the morning eat 3 batteries!
