Hello everyone nice looking forum and I'm happy i found this place. I'm looking to have a go at TC and I will be using a IPV 4S on a Bellus rta. I don't think the IPV 4S has a setting for SS so I'm thinking that I will be using maybe Ni200 or Titanium wire I also hear good things about the NiFe30 wire. As the Bellus rta only has a small deck what do you guys think would be the best wire for a newbie like me to start with. Thanks All

Welcome aboard humax , you've settled in probably the friendliest vaping forum on the planet. I've never been able to get to grips with TC, no matter what type of wire I tried, so unfortunately I can't help you there. Just hang in and there will be plenty experienced TC users will pitch in to keep you right. VapingBad , sydsut and car147 I'm pretty sure are experienced in that area and are never usually far away.

I would go for Ni200 as your first wire, I am not up to speed on the device that your using as mine are mostly DNA's but you are best to go for a spaced coil as opposed to the normal micro coil when using Kanthal. Titanium i have never used so cannot comment, but i do use SS on all my DNA based mods. If you go onto The Steam Engine is a great resource for checking out different builds and all the wires are catered for in a drop down window. A couple of pointers, make sure your batteries are up to spec, do not dry burn Ni200 coils, i usually just replace them every week or two a just find it easier than trying to clean the damn thing.

I mainly use either SS316L from Stealthvape nowadays, or Ni chrome 80 when i am not using TC as it is just so much easier to build with these other wires, Ni200 being very low resistance can make it difficult. Hopefully someone else that has used Titanium can give the pro's and con's with that wire as i say i have never used it.

I started using Ni200 a year or so ago, and apart from a few experimental coils with ss and ni80 have used nothing else since. The Ni200 coils last an age, they can be cleaned with a gentle dry burn and a dip in water (as VapingBad recently showed me) One tip I'd offer, is to ensure all your contacts are clean and that the atty screws are well tightened. to the forum btw

Welcome to you humax. TC has never interested me, but I'm sure once heads have cleared this morning someone will advise you further.

humax - like some of the other replies above, I have never ventured into the world of TC, but there are others here who can and will give you some good advice and suggestions. Welcome to the forum, and don't hesitate to ask questions!!

I used both types humax and never noticed much difference at all between the two. I would say whilst i have recommended Ni200 as your first wire is more to do with the mod your using it with it, i just don't know how it behaves with the other wires, so initially i think it's best to try Ni200 first.

Thanks for the help so far guys. Looking on stelthvape the wire seems to come in a few types Tempered Ni200 NI200-RIBBON Annealed Nickel-200 what is the difference between the wires Tempered Ni200 is just a stiffer version, vapes the same NI200-RIBBON is flat for a different style of coiling, not what you want unless that is specifically what you want. Annealed Nickel-200 standard Ni I would go for Tempered or Annealed, Tempered is meant to be a little more like Kanthal to work with. 0.25 mm is a good gauge to start with you can use SteamEngine to find out what gauge suites the sort of build you want to do (ther is a guide in the guide section), you will probably using thinner wire than you would with Kanthal.
